*Peleidesat 15 yearsold*
“Mom I don’t feel good” I moan in pain as I started to cough really hard.
“What’s wrong baby?” my mom asked in her sleepy voice.
” I don’t know-cough-It-cough-cough-hurts” I moaned in pain as I tumbled to the floor.
“Paleides!!!” my mom shrieked and came running towards me.
My mom started to look around for the phone to call 911 but I just kept on coughing and everything became worse when I coughed up blood. My mom panicked and tried to sooth me but I just continued to cough up blood. I tried telling her to just get the phone but I couldn’t talk so clearly so I pointed to the dam phone and she got the message as she ran to the phone and started to dial 911 with her shaking hands. Five minutes later the ambulance was here and the paramedics where taking me to the hospital with my mother trying to catch up in her car. We made it to the hospital and they took me through some doors but before I could ask I passed out.

That was two years ago that I was diagnosed with this monster. After that night I was hospitalized and I went from being home-schooled to hospital schooled. I hate it here the smell of Ammonium and the cold might as well kill me first, my mom tried to put some color in the room by bringing some of my paintings here and gaming counsels but it wouldn’t derive anyone that this is a cell and I its prisoner. I hate being here.
“Hey honey, how are you feeling?” my mom asked softly as she came in through the door.
“Hi and I could be better” I rasped out wincing at the pain in my throat.
“Guess who’s here?” my mom asked trying to change the subject.
“Who?” I said smiling knowing it must be a family member and I was right.
” Well us honey” said my aunt Rosemarie.
“Hi aunty” I said getting my voice back a little.
“Hey sport” said my uncle Jim.
“Hi uncle Jim” I greet.
They both came in with Camilla their daughter who was the same age as me, she ran to me and hugged me taking the air out of me but I wasn’t mad. I patted her back as she tried to not let her tears escape instead she looked out the large window that showed the hall of the hospital.
“Hey” I said looming at her. She dyed her hair blue my favorite color.
“You like it?” she asked knowing that I would understand.
” Its pretty. Your friend did it?” I asked as I tried to pet her hair but it hurt too much so I just put my arm back down.
“Yeah….” she answered and we went back to being silent.
My aunt had made some food and brought it and as they served we two just stayed silent but it was a comfortable silence. Camilla is the only one of my cousins that comes to visit me because all the others just start to cry as soon as they see me so I just told them not to come so they could spear themselves from seeing me. Camilla’s friends once came too see me and they two tried to act as if everything was going to be okay but I could see it in their eyes, their pity was towards me and that angered me so I kicked them out and told Camilla not too bring them anymore. Another time Camila brought her boyfriend and he brought me presents which I liked and I still use them, he was the only one I allowed Camilla to bring but now he is working so he can’t come as often.
Wow how rude of me I haven’t even presented myself to you and I’m already talking so much, My names Peleides Snow, yeah yeah but call me snow white and you will die, anyways I love the color blue and butterflies I know but hey I’m gay so what can I do. Wait you didn’t get that okay Imma tell you again I’m GAY, GAY, GAY, GAY!!!!!!!!! I suck dick….. well not really since I have never actually dated anyone. Anyways I do love butterflies all kinds but I love the Morpho Peleides butterfly I was named after it. because my mom said that when she was at the park one of those butterflies came and rested on top of her belly so she looked it up and decided to name me Peleides since Morpho doesn’t sound right. Yeah my mom is supppeer weird but I love her because she supports my life options as long as they are good decisions, she actually told me that she wished I was gay and when I came out it was like a dream come true. I didn’t lie though I am gay and I love that I made my mom happy.
You must be wondering ‘hey where is daddy?’ well that bastard left us when I was little but I don’t remember him so its fine by me besides me and my mom are happy and that’s all that matters. I was knock out my train of thought when I smelled the food that was laid in front of me, my mom was going to feed me but I stopped her and ordered her to eat and let me eat myself. I knew she has been working hard so I wanted to give her a brake and let her at least eat and breath until she has too leave for work. After my mom found out about my cancer she has been working extra shifts so that she could pay for the house since I’m not working and can’t help her. She has been there for me giving me strength and reason as too why I shouldn’t give my life to this monster. I cry for her since she doesn’t have the time. My mom is a lawyer for your information and the best you’ll find in this town. My mom kissed my cheek as my aunt and her family were leaving.
“I love you honey” she whispered.
” I love you too mom” I whispered.
She turned off the lights and clothes the shades to the big window only leaving the small window that was a few feet away from me open letting the high sky to come to my line of vision. I felt my eyes drop as I saw the stars and finally after a long day my eyes closed and sleep took me.
