3) Mission – Harry

Looking at the blonde guy called Niall, Harry felt excited. Not just a little bit but a whole lot, and he doesn’t even know why.

It’s just that, Harry thinks he’d already encountered the blue eyed blonde from somewhere. He just can’t remember the exact place or time for that matter. It was just a gut feeling he had that they’ve already met.

“Marcus, what do you think you were doing earlier?” Gemma, Harry’s older sister started lecturing Marcus towards his attitude.

Gemma was the eldest in the pack, and she acts all motherly. “Do you think the Alpha would have approved of it, of your actions, of you making a scene in our first day of school?”

“Alpha?” Marcus looked at Harry and the curly haired guy sitting reluctantly on the edge of the table didn’t bother to join their conversation, Harry just continued to think where he’d first seen Niall Horan.

“He doesn’t mind,” Marcus told Gemma before taking a huge bite off the burger he’s taken from the counter of the cafeteria.

“He’s not the Alpha I was talking about,” Gemma glared at Marcus but he ignored her and continued chewing on the meat. “He’s not even an alpha yet! Are you even listening to me?”

“Disgusting!” Marcus blurted glaring at the burger he had bitten from. “Why do these people ruin good meat by putting them into fire?”

“Because they’re human idiot. That’s what they do.” Gemma told him again. “And stop complaining so loud, your destroying our purpose. We should blend in, remember?”

“Yes, mother…” Marcus answered and the group laughed except Harry who was focused on knowing who the familiar boy was. And the talking continued.

“So alpha in the making, what is bothering you?” Another one of Harry’s pack asked seeing that their leader was not into their conversation. It was a younger girl named Venice.

“Yeah? What are you thinking about? Share alpha…” Elizabeth the youngest of the girls agreed and they all turned to Harry with curious eyes.

“Have you found him already?” Alarick, Marcus’ twin brother asked. “I hope so, so we could already go back home. I hate human society.”

“Yeah, they don’t serve fresh meat out here.” Marcus dropped the burger on the table. “What the hell am I supposed to eat with this burned meat? Is this even edible?”

“So?” Everyone asked Harry getting back to the topic of what was bothering him, and he just raised his brow at them.

“I don’t even know if he’s near, okay.” He told his pack. “And stop complaining, you guys. If you don’t want to eat those cooked meat then just throw it away… you can eat later when we get back at home.”

“Then what is it that got you thinking too deep, if not our mission to find the last of the Druid race?” Gemma teased him. “Found someone interesting?”

Then a smile curved on Harry’s lips. Was it really someone interesting? Was he really interested in Niall Horan?

“Maybe,” he answered and then all the attention of the pack was on him.

“Is it your mate?” The two younger ladies were already so close to him that Harry thought he couldn’t breathe.

This was what separates them from other pack; they were so close together that there was no such definition of ranking. They were just friends.

“I don’t know, he doesn’t seem like a wolf to me,” Harry wondered. “But then, there were times when a wolf gets a human mate.”

He knew when he sat next to Niall that the boy doesn’t smell like one of them. He was sure Niall was just an ordinary human and not a wolf.

“So it’s a he?” The girl shrieked like they just saw their favorite Hollywood celebrities.

“You two should stop reading yaoi manggas, It is making you act so weird.” Alarick told the girl and they pouted.

“As if you don’t sneak out reading one,” Marcus blurted and then Alarick turned bright pink.

“I read no such thing, brother,” Alarick argued.

“So why did I see a…”

“Shut up!” Alarick was already bright red and then he walked away going to the comfort room.

“Meanie!” The two girls told Marcus who went back to eating his burger and complaining about the cooked meat.

Meanwhile Harry caught an unfamiliar scent. Or he would rather describe it as the lack of scent of someone who just entered.

It was a guy wearing a leather jacket and tight skinny jeans with red lips, ink black hair and fair snow white skin.

The guy was wearing shades as he strutted down the way to the food line beaming a smile with his perfectly aligned white teeth to everyone who waved their hand at him.

“Someone’s popular!” Gemma commented.

“And that someone looked kind of suspicious and smells suspicious too,” Harry told the pack and suddenly he thought he saw the guy looked at them. But Harry couldn’t really tell since the guy was wearing a dark shades.

“Liam Payne,” Harry mentioned the guy’s name. It was the same guy who entered their classroom by mistake. But then, Harry suspected that it wasn’t by mistake. He had a gut feeling that Liam had entered their classroom knowing full well it was the wrong room.

But why exactly? That was the question.

“He doesn’t smell like a wolf,” Elie told them sniffing the air. “Not human either.”

“Could he be the person in our mission, the one we were supposed to find?” Alarick asked. He was already back from running away avoiding the topic of him reading or not reading boy to boy mangga. He does that usually, runaway to avoid conflict.

“He doesn’t look like a witch to me, especially not the Druid type,” Gemma commented. They were all looking at the guy who was in a queue for food in the cafeteria counter.

“He’s more likely a vampire,” Harry told them and they all looked at him and then at the guy… and back to Harry.

“Vampire?”

“You’re kidding right?” Marcus chuckled but Harry’s facial expression didn’t change. “Are you serious, he should be burning then?”

“There are many ways to let a vampire walk in the sun, brother,” Alarick told his brother with a ‘duh’ expression.

It was common knowledge that vampires could walk in the sun using certain methods but they all could guess that Marcus was busy thinking of hunting or of meat when they were having lessons with the elder wolves.

“But all those involve witches, right?” Elie added. “Trained one’s, right? And there are very few living witches after the witch hunt, and not very many of them would want to do business with the vamps.”

“That’s why we have to find the Druid in this school as soon as possible before any vampire could,” Harry said firmly glaring at Liam Payne.

Now Harry’s mission got more troublesome than he had expected. But he wanted to finish it soon, so he could finally search for his mate. ~more soon
