(Luc’s POV)
It has been a week since the party and everything has kind of calm down. There is no more going to the clearing to clean it and Holden’s mom and sister is back. Life is kind of boring. He stays home on nights I work late so that sucks. I am so uses to sleeping with him or having him here with me. Lacey and Brandon are dating now. I am so good. Landon has even started dating some girl that is going to be a junior next year. Her name is Raylin and she is actually smaller then me. I thought that was both funny and cute. Landon seems to really like her and I am glad he has found someone.
Because it is Friday I don’t have to work but Holden does. But he gets off at three and we are going to have our scheduled date night. I am getting the bathroom ready now because it is almost three and I have to meet him at his house by 3:30. I can’t wait to see him it has been two days and I miss him like crazy.
“Luc, do you have any socks?” Landon asked coming in my room.
“Forget to do laundry again? And why are you not at work?” I asked.
“Um.. I call off today because it’s Ray’s birthday and I didn’t have time to do my laundry because I was shopping for her gift. I am having dinner at her house with her parents tonight.” He said and looked a little green while saying it.
“First time meeting the parents?” I asked wanting to chuckle but didn’t.
“Yeah and her dad is like some body builder or something.” He said sitting in my bed.
“Well the only thing I can tell you is to be polite, uses your manners and do not stare or undress Ray with your eyes. I would go with a kiss on the cheek or a peak on the lips but a quick one. And don’t forget to look into her dad’s eyes while shaking his hand. And if he ask what your plans are with his daughter. Simply say that for right now you are just trying to get to know her. You really like her but it is to soon in the relationship to think past that. That way he doesn’t think that your one week relationship is going from shaking hands to shaking something else.” I said handing him a pair of socks.
“Cool, I should really text Ray and warn her about what I may or may not say. I don’t want her to think I am that lame.” He said taking the socks and going back to his room. That poor boy was going to fail this dinner. And not because he doesn’t like Ray or want to be with her but because he is too nervous.
I went back to getting the bathroom ready before getting ready myself. A part of cargo shorts and a t-shirt was good enough for me. I just hope Holden did have other plans. I stopped by and wished Landon good luck and waved to Lace and Brandon on my way out the door. If I timed it just right Holden will be getting out of the shower when I arrived.
I drove slow stopping at every stop sign and waiting like thirty seconds. I even stopped for gas and didn’t really need it. I just wanted to see Holden and the closer I got the more I wanted to speed and run any stop signs or stop lights on my way.
When I pulled up to his house he was outside arguing with some guy. This is not going to be good. Holden doesn’t like to fight with people and I have never seen this guy before. So either he is one of Brook’s friends he doesn’t like or he is someone from Holden’s past that has shown up out of the blue. I get out of my truck and slowly walk up to them. Holden sees me before I could even step on the sidewalk.
“Hey babe, I am almost done here. Mom and Brook are in the house go a head and go in and I will be in, in a minute.” He said smiling at me. Only Holden can do that. Fight with someone be all pissed off but when he is talking to me at the same time it is with love and care. I am falling so fricken hard for this boy.
“Okay” I said smiling at him as I pass the boy and stop and kiss Holden. I felt him smile on my lips when the kiss was done. I pulled away and continued in the house.
“Luc that was funny.” Brook said from the window in the living room.
“Who is that?” I asked coming to stand by her.
“That is Jefferson. Holden’s ex.” She said with a frown.
“How did he find you guys?” I asked.
“I am thinking Cal. Because Holden has blocked Jefferson from anything and everything on the internet plus he hasn’t really talked to anyone from our old school since we moved.” She said.
“Is that asshole still out there?” Ms. Fletcher asked coming in the living room.
“Yeah you missed it Mr. Luc here walked right up and kissed Holden while they were out there arguing. It was funny. Jefferson was even more pissed after that.” Brook said laughing.
“Well, Holden has five more minutes before I go out there so for Jefferson’s sake they better wrap it up.” Ms. Fletcher said.
“He isn’t listening to Holden anyways. He is trying to do like he uses to do all the time and it’s not working. Holden isn’t going to fall for any of his shit any more. He convinced him enough that he never cheated and when Holden knew for a fact he did Jeff made Holden think it was all his fault. That is not going to happen this time.” Brook said watching out the window again.
“Sometimes first loves were never loves to begin with. They are either a test or a learning experience that will help you when you do find your true love.” Ms. Fletcher said.
“Well then I think both Luc and Holden have had the learning experience relationships so this relationship will rock for both of them.” Brook said making me blush. I hope she was right because I really did have strong feeling for Holden.
“Mom you better get out there I think Holden might hit Jeff.” Brook said sounding worried.
“If I wasn’t worried about the slim ball calling the cops I would let him.” She said running for the door. I could hear her yelling as soon as she was out the door.
“Jeff hates my mom but he is also afraid of her so he will be gone in a heart beat.” Brook said laughing. I looked outside and Ms. Fletcher was all up in Jefferson’s face as he slowly backed out of the yard. Holden was laughing and yelling things out every once in a while. Once he was in his car both mother and son stood and watched him drive away.
“See that didn’t take long.” Brook said with a smirk.
“Your mom can be pretty scary.” I said chuckling.
“Only when you hurt one of her babies and then she becomes a momma bear.” Brook said laughing.
Holden and his mom stayed outside and talked for a few minutes before they started walking back into the house. Brook hurried and left the window leaving me standing there like a stalker. I didn’t care I was worried about my man and I couldn’t just sit in here and not know what was going on outside.
“Hey baby, sorry about all that.” Holden said coming up to me and kissing me.
“That’s alright we all have at least one crazy ex.” I said laughing
“You know I think our ex’s should get together they would make the perfect couple.” Holden said laughing.
“We could set that up you know.” I said smiling.
“How?” He asked.
“All I have to do is mention Jefferson on my facebook and Harvey will be all over him.” I said winking at him.
“But Harvey is in Florida.” He said looking a little sad.
“No he isn’t. He isn’t leaving until the end of the month. I ran into one of his friends at work and they were talking about a party he was having before he leaves. I think he just said that he was leaving we know he is a lier.” I said shaking my head.
“Okay so we will make a post on your wall and mine about Jefferson and let Harvey do the rest.” Holden said smiling at me.
We went into Holden’s room and while he was in the shower I made a small post about his ex Jefferson on my facebook. I knew at least one of the so called friend that I had were Harvey in fact all of us at WHH knew that one of them was in fact Harvey. We like that he made a fake profile just to see what was being said in the little group about him. That is why I don’t put anything on my page that I don’t either want him to see or that would give anything that I am actually doing away. When Holden got out he went on and made his post. Now all we have to do is wait and see if Harvey and Jefferson hook up.
“So what do you boys have planned for tonight?” Ms. Fletcher asked.
“Dinner at our diner, movie and I’m not sure after that.” Holden said.
“You two have a diner?” She asked smiling.
“No it’s the first place we ever went together and they make the best steaks I have ever tasted. So once a month we plan on going there and eating.” Holden said chuckling.
“That is so sweet. This is a good start for a good relationship. I like it.” She said smiling at us.
“Everything about this relationship is different and I have to say I am kind of glad our ex’s are dumb asses.” Holden said and I agreed with him.
“Me too.” She said before taking a sip of her soda.
“I will be home tomorrow to help clean out the garage. I know you are going shopping to get all of Brook’s stuff for college this week.” He said sitting at the counter.
“Yes, she received a list of stuff she needed and could have. She also did the whole facetime thing with her roommate last night. I think those two are going to be really good friends.” She said with a sad smile.
“Don’t worry mom I am staying close to home to go to college. You will see me every holiday and on weekends too. I might move in with Luc but I will still be really close.” He told her.
“Good, I might actually sell this house and find one a little smaller.” She said winking at me.
“No way, where would your grand kids sleep?” He asked giving her a shocked look.
“I have or I better have years before I have grand kids.” She said laughing.
“You never know I mean if the oppertunity were to show up so we could adopt I would jump on it whether I am still in school or not.” He said seriously.
“I think I still have time.” She said laughing.
“I hope you have time.” I said a little freaked out.
“You do want kids right?” Holden asked.
“Yes I do but I think I would like to be at least 18 before I had them and I am hoping that I am at least out of high school also.” I said giving him a hopeful look. He started laughing and hugged me close.
“I think we can at least wait that long. But once we are in college if it happens it happens.” He whispered.
“Deal” I said before kissing him.
“You two are just to fricking cute.” Brook said squealing behind us.
“I agree.” Their mom said making me blush and Holden laugh.
“We need to go to the store before we actually go to dinner so we are going to head out.” Holden said to his mom and sister.
“Okay try and be here early so we can get done before it gets to hot.” His mom said.
“We will be here so you can make us breakfast.” He said winking at me. I guess I am cleaning out a garage.
“Deal” His mom said.
I let Holden drive us in my truck. He seemed to like driving it so I let him. When we got to Wal-Mart we got one of those hand held baskets and headed for the snacks and drinks area before going and getting the supplies for the rest of the night. Who knew a couple packs of condoms wouldn’t last a month.
“I think work is getting out about our diner.” Holden said as we pulled in to the nearly packed parking lot.
“Yeah, I think your right. I hope they have a table or booth open for us.” I said getting a little nervous about the crowed that was inside.
“I am sure they have room for two more if not we can wait for a table to open up for us.” He said taking my hand as we walked in the door.
“Hey guys, it is a mad house in here but I do have a booth in the corner for you two.” May our waitress said.
“Thank you” Holden and I both said.
“So cute. Follow me.” She said an walked towards the back of the diner.
“Hey you go sweeties. I will be back with your drinks. Do you want your normal order?” She asked.
“Yes, please.” Holden said smiling at her.
“Very good, I will put that in before I get you both your ice tea’s.” She said.
“Thank you.” I said smiling at her.
“Anytime, sweeties.” She said before leaving us.
“I think they are getting to know us a little here.” Holden said with a chuckle.
“That isn’t to surprising.” I said laughing.
“I wonder why it is so packed in here?” He asked.
“Not sure maybe word got out on how good the food is.” I said
“That wouldn’t surprise me. You would think that it would have been common knowledge.” He said.
“When I first started coming here by myself I did it because not to many people came here.” I said playing with my napkin.
“Well I am glad you did. Because this my love is a honey hole.” He said shocking me with the “L” word. I think he was just a shocked so I didn’t comment on it just in case he didn’t mean it like he said it.
“Here you guys go and your order will be up in a few.” May said setting our drinks down.
“Hey why is this place so packed?” Holden asked.
“I really don’t know but I am so glad it is. If it keeps this up I can quit my other job at Bob’s Pub.” She said smiling.
“Well I hope it does too. I love the food here.” I said smiling at her.
“Honey you are one of the only people that has been coming in here for ever. I think I would miss you if you didn’t.” She said patting me on the head. Holden and I both laughed as she walked away.
“I really like her.” Holden said once we stopped laughing.
“Yeah, she is always so sweet and damn good at what she does.” I said taking a sip of some damn fine tea.
“Awe I see a big tip in her future.” Holden said chuckling.
“You betcha.” I said looking at him smiling.
Once our food showed up there was no more talking. The food was that good. May was busy but still managed to make sure our tea’s stayed filled and to anything else we may or may not need. Holden paid the bill while I left the tip. We scooted out of there before she could see how much I left for her. Fifty dollars and a little note that said thanks, your the best on a napkin.
“Can we go get ice cream?” I asked I was in the mood for a banana split.
“Hell yeah, I could go for a large shake.” He said turning into the small ice cream place down the road from the diner. It was one of those old fashion ones where you pull up in a parking spot and the waitress comes out on roller skates and takes your order. I have always wanted to stop here but never wanted to do it alone and Harvey hated the idea of the whole place so we always went to the bowling alley for ice cream.
“What can I get for you guys?” One of the cheerleaders from our school asked.
“I would like a chocolate shake and he would like a large banana split without nuts.” Holden said. How did he know I didn’t like nuts?
“Okay, that will be 12.72.” She said after adding it up on her phone. Holden handed her fifteen and told her to keep the change. She rolled her eyes at him but took it anyways.
“I don’t like this waitress.” He said as soon as she was gone.
“No she is nothing compared to May.” I said frowning.
“So your dad called my mom about the trip to Florida and she is going to let me go. She said she is going to take that week and go with my sister to take all her stuff to her dorm and spend some mother daughter time with her.” He said as we waited for our ice cream.
“Cool, I think my dad is going to need the vacation. Him and his girlfriend have been fighting nonstop since we moved. He asked her to move in and she said he was moving to fast and she wasn’t ready for that. They have been together for three years how is that moving to fast?” I asked.
“Maybe she isn’t ready. Or maybe she didn’t think it would ever get this far. Some people like being in a relationship that doesn’t move. I don’t understand it but it’s not unheard of.” He said.
“I think they are going to break up. My dad is getting sad and upset that she keeps accusing him of ruining what they had. Not what they have. She said that his kids are bad influences on her kids. I think she means me. I don’t think she is as okay about gay people as my dad thought.” I said frowning.
“I don’t think your dad wants to be with someone that doesn’t except his kids whether they are gay or not. It is her lose, your dad is a great man and the three of you are good kids. Okay so Lacey and Landon haven’t always been that great but they had a influence in their lives that didn’t help. Now they have changed and are doing really good.” He said honestly.
“Your right, and if we can except their mistakes everyone else can to. Hell I even get along with Gran. I was so afraid of her it was unreal but now we get along just fine. And so does her and my dad.” I said shaking my head.
“See so it isn’t you or your family it is her. She is not the right person for your dad or you guys.” He said taking my hand. I squeezed his and smiled at him.
“Here is your order.” Our waitress said almost shoving it through the window at Holden.
“Thanks” Holden said rolling his eyes at her.
We ate or drank or ice cream talking about different things like the weather or work. It felt so good to just be able to talk about nothing yet not run out of things to talk about. When we finished we drove back to my place and I hurried up to my room to get the bathroom ready while he put away all the stuff we got at the store. It was going to be another magical night for us and I couldn’t wait to get started.
A/N: Okay so the last couple chapters have been a little boring and short but it all leads up to the ending so don’t be mad at me. And yes I have been skipping all the naughty scence but I want to keep it PG-13. But just so you know this there is no top or bottom in their relationship they switch but you will get to witness that a couple chapters from now. I try and at least make sure there is at least two naughty scences in each story. Enjoy, five more chapters to go.
