(Luc’s POV)
It had been a amazing date and I was kind of sad to be home now. Holden and Landon are working on clearing the area in the woods for their party. A few of their friends have shown up to help out. I have decided to make a bunch of sandwiches and to fill a cooler with bottles of water for them. I had found a big wagon in one of the out buildings and loaded it with all of the goodies. One of the first things the guys did was make a wide path back to this pond they found. So with my wagon filled with goodies I started my tract back to where the guys were working.
I may be a guarded person and try and keep my emotions hidden from people. But just because of all of that doesn’t mean I don’t have them. Nor does it mean that things don’t turn me on. And right now I was a lot hotter then the 90 degree heat that had been warming up the day. Holden was shirtless and sweaty working his muscles. I know for a fact I had licked my lips a half a dozen times. And I was thanking who ever invented baggy shorts because lets just say I was a little stiff.
“Hey babe, please tell me you brought something cold for us to drink.” Holden said running up to me making me bite back a moan.
“Bottled water.” I crocked out.
“You are the best. So what do you think of this area?” He asked.
“It almost looks like that area you took me yesterday, minus the waterfall.” I said looking around.
“It does, I didn’t notice that until you said something. I might have to borrow this place for my new place to think.” He said sitting under the big tree I decided to park the wagon under.
“Luc, you are the bomb.” Landon said coming up and grabbing a cold bottle of water.
“I made sandwiches. I cannot promise that they are going to be all that good but I had one before leaving the house and I am still alive.” I said chuckling.
“I don’t even care. I am starving.” One of their friends said.
“I am good with the water, Thanks.” Another one said.
“Anytime” I said to them.
I sat back and watched them for a little bit but got bored with it so I walked back to the house leaving the cooler and wagon with them. Lacey and Brook were helping our dad with decorating and stuff at his house so to me that was also boring. I don’t get into all of that kind of stuff. I decided to run into town and buy a bunch of food for everyone that was out at the clearing.
Wal-Mart was packed with people buying stuff for vacations and stuff. I hated being around a bunch of people so it didn’t take me long to do my shopping. On the way home I decided to stop and pick up an assortment of pizza’s. That should be good enough for everyone and with most of the pizza places having deals it was also cheep. When I got home I stocked the fridge with sodas and water and the cabinets with chips and different snacks. When I was done with all that I text Holden and let him know that I had dinner for everyone in the kitchen before heading up to my room. I didn’t want to be around all of those guys so it was best for me to hide out in my room.
“Hey babe, thanks for dinner. We called it a day, it was just to hot.” Holden said coming in my room with a plate filled with food.
“Did everyone get enough to eat?” I asked looking up from my computer.
“Yeah, so of us were talking about going swimming in the pool, you want to join us?” He asked.
“Not right now. I might go later after people leave.” I said frowning. I wish I wasn’t this way but I don’t think I can handle being in a place that could easily be my death bed.
“Okay, so a late night swim for you it is. I am going to jump in with these guys for now and you and I will go later.” He said smiling. I am so glad he under stood.
“Sounds good. Did you bring trunks to swim in?” I asked stealing a chip off his plate.
“Yes I did. Did you eat?” He asked.
“No I will once everyone is done.” I said shutting down my laptop for now.
“Here hold this. I am going to go make you a plate.” He said handing me his plate and running out of the room before I could protest. I munched on his chips while he was gone. I didn’t even realize I was hungry.
“Here, from now on you get your plate before they come in.” He said frowning at me.
“I wasn’t hungry when I got back.” I said honestly.
“So you could have hide it in the microwave or something.” He said joining me back on the bed.
“Okay, I don’t know if I will be doing this again for awhile but I will help when I can.” I said taking a bite of my pizza.
“Well I will buy next time we all work on this, which will be next weekend. We might work on it all weekend so do you want to go out and do something on Friday?” He asked.
“Sure, but this time it is my turn to plan the date so let’s leave around six.” I said smiling at him. Did I mention that he is still shirtless? Well he is and looking really sexy. I might have to find a good view of the pool from the apartment. Creepy I know.
“You got it. Well I am going to change and go to the pool with the guys. If you want you can come.” He said looking a little hopeful.
“Maybe next time.” I said trying to force a smile.
“No rush, yet. I will get you down there with all of us but I know your not ready so you have time to get ready.” He said smiling at me. I love how he knew me.
“No promises but I will try.” I said nodding my head like an bobble head. Dumb ass.
“Be back in a bit. He said after finding his swim trunks and heading for the bathroom. I set my plate of food down and went to the window. If I went out on my balcony I could see some of the pool area. I made it back to the bed and was eating by time he came back out.
“I shouldn’t be long.” He said coming over and giving me a quick kiss.
“Have fun.” I said smiling into his lips before kissing him.
“After we go swimming tonight maybe we can watch a movie.” He said from the doorway.
“You got it.” I said and then he was gone. Man I am really glad we didn’t break up. I really, really like him.
A couple hours later and Landon and Holden were back. They looked really tired so I didn’t get my hopes up for a swim or a movie. I didn’t mind either way as long as I got to spend sometime with him.
“I am going to grab a quick snack and then I will be right back up to shower.” Holden said popping in my room for a second. I was reading on of the books I had brought home from work.
“Okay, could you bring me a glass of tea when you come back up?” I asked.
“Sure thing. Anything else?” He asked.
“No, I’m good. I cleaned up the kitchen while you guys were swimming so I snacked as I cleaned.” I said chuckling.
“Alright, be right back.” He said yawning. Yep he was going to be asleep before we even had the chance to go swimming or watch a movie.
I set the alarm knowing he had to be up and at work by eight. I on the other hand didn’t have to be to work until noon. Tomorrow was one of the days I got to go in early and get off early.
When Holden came back up he had a plate full of pizza and chips and one big glass of tea. I held his plate why he climbed in bed and got comfortable. Once he was all in I handed him his plate and sipped the tea. I knew he would want some while he ate and would end up drinking over half so I tried to get enough to quench my thirst.
Once he was done eating he fell asleep sitting up. I took the dirty dishes down to the kitchen and rinsed them before adding them to the dishwasher. When I made it back to my room he had snuggled down into his pillow and looked sexy as hell. I was really losing it or horny. I think it was the second one. I decided a cool shower was in order for me so I jumped in and out before joining him in bed. That should hold me over for a day or so, I hope.
The next couple of days we had only seen each other at night due to our work schedules. We did get to go swimming and watched a couple of movies but that was about it. I still needed to plan our date for Friday. There really wasn’t to many things we could do in our small town and I didn’t want to do the whole dinner and a movie thing. The other things that were out were bowling and skating. Bowling because of Harvey and skating was because I didn’t know how.
“We are both off early tomorrow, I was thinking about maybe going to that diner and having dinner, what do you think?” He asked coming to bed Wednesday night.
“I could meet you there after I get off work.” I said watching the water drip from his hair to his chest. I wish I was that water right now. It was getting harder and harder to see him half naked all the time and not want to jump his bones.
“Cool, I will have someone drop me off around nine.” He said rubbing the towel through his hair one last time before dropping it in the laundry basket.
“I still don’t know what we are going to do Friday.” I said with a sigh.
“What ever is good with me. We could do the whole dinner and a movie thing here. We don’t have to go any where. I just want to spend that time alone with you.” He said.
“I will think of something.” I said yawning.
“Is the alarm set?” He asked.
“Yep, I am going to get up with you and do our laundry and stuff so make sure I am up.” I said before stretching. I got a glimpse of him watching me with hunger in his eyes. So I wasn’t the only one that was feeling this way. Am I ready for that? Does it really matter? I don’t want to be one of those people who has multiple partners. Or more partners then relationships. But we are in a committed relationship so what is the harm in going forward in that relationship? Do I love him? Maybe. Am I in love with him. I could be. He is everything I want and need right now but moving to the next step could do more harm then good. I think I have an idea for tomorrows date. It is time to test the waters.
“Good night, babe.” He said kissing me deeply.
“Good night.” I said with a sigh once our lips parted for the night.
The next day I cleaned our room, did our laundry and started setting up things for Friday. I had decided that we would do the whole dinner and a movie here at home but we were not going to leave the room. I had to go shopping before he got off work tomorrow so I could set everything up. When I got to work I was left alone until the end of my shift. I didn’t mind because now that summer was officially on and not to many people were coming in to buy books. We had our normal groups come in or people who were looking forward to a new book coming out but that was about it. I had time to set out stock, clean and even look for new books to add to my new and ever growing collection.
I had time once Clare came in to go freshen up a bit before leaving to meet Holden at the dinner. Clare is not someone I would truly have closing up this place but for once I am glad it is not me. After counting down my drawer and depositing my intake for the day I headed to the dinner.
“Sorry I am late, there was an accident a couple blocks away.” I said scooting into the booth across from Holden.
“That’s okay, I ordered for us already, hope you don’t mind.” He said smiling at me.
“No, I am starving.” I said taking a sip of my coke.
“My mouth has been watering since I got here. I skipped lunch and had a small snack when I got home but that was it.” He said right as the waitress came with our food.
“Thank you’ I said to her before turning to my plate. “This looks amazing.” I said cutting my steak.
“I have fell in love with this place just because of this meal.” He said making my heart stop and start back up and the “L” work coming out of his mouth.
“This uses to be a once a month thing for me. This was my treat to myself.” I said taking a bite of the best steak ever.
“I so believe that. I think we should keep that tradition going. Once a month we come here for dinner.” He said smiling at me.
“You have a date.” I said smiling back.
“I like sound of that. So have you figured out what we are doing tomorrow?” He asked.
“I have. No need to dress up or anything we are staying in but that is all I am going to tell you. This is kind of a lame date but I am hoping you enjoy it.” I said smiling at him.
“If your there I will.” He said with a wink.
We enjoyed the rest of our meal before heading home and going to bed. He had to be to work early tomorrow because or a stock truck coming in and even though he has been working the floor he still had to help with stock.
I had a lot to do so I was going to make sure I got up with him in the morning. Part of me knew I was going to be blowing a bunch of money on stupid shit but I think in the long run it will be worth it. I just hope it didn’t mess up our relationship. I really wanted a future with Holden a long and loving future.
While he laid next to me sleeping I grew more and more nervous about what I had planned for tomorrow. No I wasn’t planning on having sex with him more along the lines of getting comfortable with the idea of having sex. If it ended up being tomorrow then it did but for now all I wanted to do is get comfortable being around him in intimate ways. I would be prepared for everything just in case. I thought about getting tested again even though I just did after finding out Harvey was a slut during our whole relationship but you can never be to careful.
A/N: Okay so I know it was a little short but I didn’t feel like adding their date night here. So the next chapter will have their date night in it. Also because there is nothing really going on in their lives just yet I am skipping days so some chapters may be like a week long when others are only a day. Sorry if any of this confuses anyone but as of right now I think there are only like nine chapters left of this story. The end will be the end of summer party followed by a epilogue that will let us know how things are going to be for these two ten years later. I like to make it at least ten years into the future that way if I wanted to or people asked I could still maybe write a sequel to it. And the sequel could be either past or present. Now on to the next chapter that may or may not contain a clean sexual scene. Figures crossed that we stay in the PG-13 spot.
