I am so ready to kill Landon. We have been at our dads house for a week and Land and I have been sharing the office as our room and he is a messy person. I keep cleaning up after him but it seems like as soon as I am done the place is a mess again. On top of that we have boxes ever where so I am tripping over Landon’s stuff and boxes. We move into the new house tomorrow thank goodness.
“Luc, Holden’s here.” Dad yelled.
“Okay, thanks.” I said. Dad was making me go shopping for a new bedroom set and Holden was going with me.
“Hey cutie, are you ready?” Holden asked.
“Yeah, let me clean this mess up really quick.” I said picking up all of Landon’s dirty clothes and putting them in a box before taping it shut.
“That is one hell of a way to pack.” He said laughing.
“That is Landon’s shit. I have picked it up and even washed it but it still ends up on the floor.” I said shaking my head.
“Just think tomorrow you won’t have to do it anymore.” He said laughing as we headed out to his car.
“Yeah, that will be nice, but I am beginning to think I might have a cleaning OCD.” I said opening the car door.
“Did this just start or is it new?” He asked once we were both st raped in.
“New, I mean I have always been a clean person and like my stuff and places I am at to be clean but I think it has gotten worse.” I said not even kidding.
“Well if it helps I am the same way. I hate mess and like every thing that I use to be clean.” He said. I had already figured that out because when we stayed over at his house for that week it was the two of us that cleaned.
“That is a very good plus.” I said blushing.
Holden drove to the mall and we headed into a furniture store. He was in charge of the buying. Lacey had convinced our dad that I couldn’t handle it. She said I would go for cheap stuff instead of the good stuff. They were right so now it is up to Holden to help me pick out something nice.
“How big of a bed to you want? He asked once we found the bedroom area.
“I don’t need a big bed.” I said.
“Okay so a king size one will do.” He said smiling at me.
“Isn’t that the biggest they come?” I asked shocked.
“Yep and every time you down grade I will upgrade.” He said laughing.
“Fine then at least a queen.” I said.
“Deal, now how many dressers do you think you will need?” He asked.
“Two, and I would like book shelves.” I said.
“Okay, how about this.” He said pointing at a really nice bedroom set. It was black metal and the dressers were also black. I wanted to paint my room a dark red so it would look really nice.
“I think it would look nice in my room once it is painted red.” I said.
“Red?” He asked.
“Yeah, I was going for a red and blue theme. You know red walls blue curtains.” I said.
“Okay, but why not blue walls and red curtains?” He asked.
“Because I like the color red. It’s warm and inviting.” I said.
“True, okay so are you sure this is the one you want?” He asked.
“Yeah, it has everything I want plus a desk and night stands.” I said.
“Cool, do you like a soft bed or a hard bed?” He asked.
“Soft” I said laughing.
“Mind out of the gutter.” He said laughing with me.
“Can I help you?” I snotty looking lady asked coming up to us.
“Yes, ma’am. Mr. Lakes said he would call a head and set up a payment account for us and we would like to add the bedroom set to it.” Holden said.
“Oh yes, Mr. Lakes was in yesterday shopping and we have all his information. One of you must be Lucas.” She said smiling now.
“That would be me.” I said.
“I should have guessed you look just like your father.” She said still smiling. I didn’t like this lady.
“Thank you” I said.
“Okay, so Luc would like this set in a queen and a soft mattress. Could you add another book shelf, a desk chair. We will also need bedding, curtains and then stuff for the bathroom.” Holden said.
“We have everything you need.” She said. “My name is Karen, and I will help you in anyway I can.” Karen said.
“Okay, well while we are looking for bedding could you maybe call and see how much red paint is?” I asked.
“We have a small selection of paint that I would be happy to show you.” She said smiling. I really don’t like this lady.
“Sure, that would be nice. Give us a little bit and we will find you.” Holden said taking my hand. I watched Karen look at our hands and roll her eyes.
“You may not like that we are holding hands but we are paying customers so if you are going to get be like that maybe some one else should help us.” I said.
“No, I am sorry. It will not happen again.” She said turning red.
“Okay then, we will be in the bedding area and then bathroom section to finish this.” Holden said looking pissed.
Holden pulled me over to the bedding area. I found some red, blue and black sheets to fit the new bed and Holden found comforters that matched. Then we found some curtains that went with it all. Too me this was all bullshit but Holden has already proving that if I complain he will buy more or better stuff so I kept my mouth shut. I almost lost it when he threw some rugs into the cart. I was thankful when we left the bedding area for the bathroom area because there wasn’t much I needed so I thought in that area but Holden piled stuff in the cart that I hadn’t even thought of.
“What the hell do I need this shelf for?” I asked.
“Shh… you’ll see.” He said with a wink.
“If you say so.” I grumbled.
“So, have you found every thing?” Karen asked as we finally left the bathroom section.
“Yes, now we would like to see the paint.” Holden said.
“Very, well.” She said smiling that fake fucking smile.
“Follow me, we don’t have a big selection but while you were doing your other shopping I checked to see if we had red paint and we do.” She said walking a head of us.
“And do you have blues also?” Holden asked.
“We have the basic colors of the color wheel so I am sure there are some blues and the paint tech said he could mix up some if you didn’t like what we had.” She said.
“Good” Holden said.
When we finally got there she was right the selection wasn’t that grand but they did have the basics. I found a really deep red and a nice navy blue that would go in the bathroom. Once we determined how many gallons would be needed and got the rollers and brushes to put it on the wall we were done.
“Well can you think of anything else?” Karen asked.
“Not at this time.” Holden said as we headed to the check out.
“Very good.” She said handing a scanner over to the lady at the register.
“We only need the paint and supplies for now the rest can be sent to the house with the other stuff tomorrow.” Holden said stopping them from ringing everything up now.
“Okay, that’s fine. Melissa please see to it that you run the paint and supplies through so these gentlemen can be on there way. We will get the rest in a bit.” Karen said before leaving to go help someone else.
“I don’t like her.” I mumbled.
“I don’t either.” Holden said signing the slip that Melissa handed him.
“Thank you, and come again.” Melissa said with the same fake smile that Karen had. See if I come back to this place.
“Let’s go get some food and head to the new house so we can paint. The others should be there doing the same thing.” Holden said carrying most of the stuff in one hand and holding my hand in the other.
“If you say so.” I said rolling my eyes.
“Keep it up mister and I will make you go clothes shopping next week.” He said chuckling.
“I hate shopping.” I whined as we made it to the car.
“I have kind of figured that out.” He said starting the car up.
We stopped at Arby’s before heading to the new house. Like he said everyone was there doing there own little things to there rooms. Holden and I taped off every thing that needed taped before we started to apply paint to the walls.
It took us about six hours to get every wall in my suite painted and then repainted. I was beat and Holden looked like he was ready to fall asleep on his feet by time we were done. Dad went to KFC and brought back enough food for an army but by time we were all done eating there really wasn’t anything left over.
It was midnight by time Holden dropped me off at my dads with a promise to be back by eight so we could start the move. We had finished my room and went to help Lacey and Landon with theirs. I took a nice hot shower because my arms and back were screaming at me and I had paint all over me. I kind of looked like a rainbow with red, blue, green and yellow paint in my hair the pink kind of ruined it for me though. After my shower I don’t remember much after sitting on my air mattress.
“Wake up sleeping beauty.” Someone whispered in my ear. I cracked an eye open to see Holden leaning over me smiling.
“What time is it?” I asked in a raspy voice.
“Seven, so we need to get up and get around. The moving truck will be here in an hour and your dad has made pancakes.” He said kissing my forehead. I pulled him down and kissed him on the lips and then froze after I had done that.
“Sorry” I whispered.
“Why, I liked it.” He said before kissing my cheek and sitting up.
“I did too.” I said blushing and burying my face in the pillow.
“Come on let’s go.” He said before he started tickling me. I started laughing and bucking trying to get him to stop.
“St-to-ppp” I yelled laughing.
“Are you up?” He said chuckling.
“Yy-ea-hhh.” I giggled.
“Okay” He said stopping and standing up.
“Your so mean.” I said once I got my breath back.
“And your so cute.” He said holding out his hand for me to take so he could help me up. I blushed and took his hand he helped me up and then walked me into the kitchen were every one was looking at us with smiles on there faces. Damn small house. I turned red again but sat down at the table with Holden next to me.
“We have a lot to do today so I want to make sure we all eat a good breakfast before we get started. The movers will be here soon but remember only the stuff marked goes the rest is getting donated so leave it another truck will be here for that tomorrow when I hand the keys to the renters. Dad decided not to sell instead he is renting the little house out and the new renters will be moving in on Monday.
“Gran, would like to come by the new house tomorrow to see us.” Lacey said and I stiffened. Holden squeezed my legs and I relaxed.
“That is fine as long as she doesn’t tell your mom where we moved to. I don’t want her coming around trying to make life more uncomfortable.” Dad said.
“She already knows that.” Lace said.
“Good, next weekend I am going to have my girlfriend and her girls over for dinner. I would like for you all to be there.” Dad said.
“I work on Sunday morning but I am off at four.” I said.
“I work from three to nine.” Landon said proudly. He and Holden had gotten jobs at a sporting goods store by the book store.
“So we will have dinner on Saturday.” Dad said smiling.
“Okay” The three of us said making every one laugh.
We finished up dinner and cleaned up and packed away all the dishes just in time for the movers to show up. My stuff was already in my truck since I didn’t have much. Holden and I stuck around and helped with everyone else’s stuff anyways. With in an hour every thing was packed up and we were all heading over to the new house. I pulled into the barn/apartment and Holden and I started unloading my truck. The furniture and stuff would be there soon so we just set all my stuff in my closet.
“We really do need to take you shopping for more stuff.” Holden said as we walked to the main house to help out there.
“I would like to get some more clothes, a TV and maybe a computer.” I said.
“Next weekend then.” Holden said.
“Okay, but some where cheap because I am buying.” I said making him laugh.
“If that is what you want, babe.” He said taking my hand.
“Luc, can you bring your truck up here so we can load our stuff in it?” Lace asked.
“Yeah, I will go get it.” I said turning around so I could run back to my truck. I drove it out of the barn and up to the main house. Holden and Land started to load their stuff into the bed while I went in and helped dad start putting stuff away. We had marked the boxes and the movers were putting things in the rooms they went into so I started in the kitchen while dad worked on his room. I trusted Holden and Land with my truck so I left them to take care of their own stuff.
I had unpacked the kitchen and two of the bathrooms by time the other truck showed up with the furniture and stuff. I left dad and went to set up my room. Holden was instructing the movers on what went where when I got there.
“All your stuff is in your room, babe.” He said.
“Thanks” I said and headed for my room. When I got there the bed was set up in the middle and the dressers and other things were just lined up against another wall. I started to move the things I could by myself. I had the bed made, curtains hung and most of the furniture moved by time Holden came up to help me.
“This looks nice.” He said walking in the room.
“It feels warm and safe to me.” I said looking around.
“I like it.” He said coming up behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist. I loved it when he did that. I leaned into him and we both sighed.
“We should finish.” he said after a few minutes.
“Yeah, I have to do the bathroom yet and move these two dressers into place.” I said with a sigh.
“I will help.” He said kissing the top of my head before releasing me. I bite make a whimper from the lose of heat and comfort.
“Thank you” I said smiling at him.
Once the bedroom was done we worked on the bathroom. I finally figured out what the shelf was for when Holden started to put the towels and stuff on it. He is so smart. I added all my necessities to the shower, sink and shelf while Holden stocked the other shelf with the towels and stuff. The bathroom was the blue with a red shower curtain and rugs we bought a mixer of red and blue towels it looked really nice when we were done.
“You know I think this turned out better then I thought it would.” He said once we were finished.
“I like how it is opposite of my room.” I said rolling out the bedroom rugs. I didn’t know where they should go but Holden did because he started to place them in places I would have never thought of.
“That is why I think I like it.” He said setting the last rug by the foot of the bed.
“Hey are you two…. Wow this is nice.” Lace said coming in my room.
“Thanks” Holden and I both said smiling.
“I see your done too. I thought we would order dinner for all of us.” Lace said walking around looking at everything in my room.
“I can go pick it up if Luc doesn’t mind me taking his truck.” Holden said.
“I don’t mind.” I said.
“Cool because I kind of already ordered some Pizza.” Lace said laughing.
“When do I need to pick it up?” Holden asked.
“In about fifteen minutes.” She said sweetly.
“Then I better go.” He said coming over to me and kissing my forehead before leaving.
“I’ll be back.” He said in a Terminator kind of way. I giggled and Lace laughed.
“You two are so cute together.” She said jumping up and down before following Holden out of the room.
I decided to put my clothes and books away while I waited. When I was finished I headed to the main house with Landon and Lacey so we could help dad. Holden showed up with the pizza not to long after we made to the main house. After we ate we spent the rest of the time helping organize dads house. Tomorrow was Sunday and I wasn’t doing a damned thing. I might even sleep all day. When it was finally time to go to bed I had figured out that Holden was staying the night and I was really happy about that because I really missed him. I think once we both were stripped down to our boxers and in the bed we didn’t move sleep took over.
