Josh and Tyler have been dating for a couple months now and, still, the only person they told was Joan, Josh’s mom.
Now, though, they were walking home from school and were just about to turn into Josh’s house when Tyler heard his name being called.
“Tyler!” He heard his mother yell from across the street. It was Tuesday. Usually she’d be working.
“Hi, mom.” He stepped away from Josh. They both had puzzled looks plastered upon their faces. “What are you, uh- What are you doing home? I thought you had work.”
“I came home early. Your father is inside as well.” She said, coming across the street and meeting the two boys. “Hello, Josh. How are you?”
“Fine, thanks. And yourself?” Josh asked, hesitantly. He knew she was just being polite. The gesture was obviously empty.
“I’m well, thank you. If you don’t mind I’d like Tyler to come home. Alone is preferred.” She nodded.
“Right, of course.” He replied. Tyler stood there awkwardly, not wanting to go home right now but he eventually gave in. He walked with his mom across the street and into the house. When he got inside, he saw that his dad was sitting at the dinning room table waiting for them both.
“Have a seat please.” His mom said, almost robotic.
“Okay…” He was officially creeped out. It felt like he was about to get murdered or something. Tyler felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and automatically knew it was Josh, asking him to tell him what happened when it was over. He smiled to himself and sat down.
“We just wanted to talk to you about something.” He heard his dad say. “It’s something important so, please, take it seriously.” Tyler nodded for them to continue.
“We know we haven’t been here in a while and we haven’t been communicating but we’re glad you found a friend.” Tyler’s mom, Jennifer, began.
“We know that having a friend is great for you, but we feel like Josh isn’t… fit for you.” Tyler’s dad, Tom, told him. Tyler looked at him like he was crazy.
“What does that mean?” Tyler asked. He was confused and irritated at the same time.
“He’s a bad influence, Tyler, and we don’t want you hanging around him anymore.” Jennifer said blatantly.
“No, you can’t do that. How is he a bad influence?” He said, shooting up from his seat.
“Well, for one, he’s gay and-” Tyler was furious and lost it.
“Okay?! So what?! What, does being gay make you a bad person now?!” Tyler shouted.
“In this house?! Yeah, It fucking does, Tyler! It’s not acceptable! Now sit down so we can talk!” Tom screamed back. Tom was a lot more vocal than he was. Tyler probably sounded like a mouse compared to him. Jennifer sat there, crying. What right did she have to cry right now? Nothing was happening to her. Reluctantly, Tyler sat down but he felt a lump in his throat. He tried his best to swallow it.
“Now, like we were saying, we don’t want you hanging around him anymore. You aren’t to speak to him, go over his house, walk with him or call him.” Tyler was now sobbing uncontrollably and couldn’t talk. He managed to get one question out though.
“Why?” He choked. “Why… can’t I talk to Josh anymore?” This time Jennifer spoke up.
“Because… I know you like him. I won’t let him take away my son. I won’t let him turn you gay.” She muttered.
“He can’t turn me gay if I already was…” Tyler whispered. He thought no one could hear him but he knew he was wrong once he felt the pain of a slap right across the face by manly hands. Tyler didn’t have the chance to talk because, before he knew it, he was being pushed out of the house and being told to come back when he chooses the “correct” sexuality.
Tyler sat on the steps, sobbing. Why were his parents like that? Why couldn’t they be as kind as Joan was or other kids’ parents? They hurt him so bad and were so ready to throw in the towel and just kick him out for something he couldn’t control? After a while of crying and shouts of anger, Tyler felt warm arm wrap around him then saw Josh sit next to him. Josh didn’t say a word and just hugged Tyler, rubbing his back so he could stop crying.
Right when Josh was about to say something, someone came out of Tyler’s house.
“What are you doing here?” Tom scolded Josh.
“Oh, you know, being a good person and comforting your son instead of being the cum rag you decided to be.” Josh shot back. He hated Tyler’s dad (and parents) for making him feel like that.
“You watch your fucking mouth, boy. Get off my property and take your little boyfriend with you. He doesn’t have the right to call himself my son anyways.” Tom said with a look of disgust as he turned around and started to step in the house.
“Go fuck yourself.” Tyler said. He’d stopped crying now and was just left with anger and hatred towards that man. “I hate you so, so much.” He choked.
“Then hate me from here because me and Jennifer are moving. Goodbye, Tyler.” Tom concluded, stepping inside the house and locking the door. Josh sighed and helped Tyler walk across the street to his house. Joan was sitting on the couch anxiously waiting for Josh to get inside.
“What happened?” She said, rushing over to the two. Tyler stood there and said nothing. He was just so emotionally drained and didn’t want to talk about anything. He just wanted to sleep.
“I got in a fight with my parents…” Tyler said softly. “It was a pretty bad fight, Joan.” He finished. Josh just hugged him and sat him down on the couch.
“I’m so sorry, sweetie. You feel free to stay here for the night, okay?” Joan told the boy.
“Thank you so much.” Tyler said. He felt tears coming again and reached out for Josh’s hand. Josh held it and stood Tyler up so he could bring him to his room.
When Josh and Tyler got to the room, Tyler went directly to the bed, crawling under the covers and snuggling up. He whined for Josh to hold him and Josh did exactly that. There was no way he wouldn’t be there for his boyfriend now.
“Do you want to tell me exactly what happened now, Ty?” Josh asked, holding Tyler close. Tyler sighed and nodded, preparing himself to speak.
“They… They started screaming at me; both of them and kept saying how wrong it was to be gay. They said I couldn’t talk or see you anymore and I kept crying…” Tyler choked. Tears were streaming down his face but he kept silent.
“It’s okay, Ty. It’s okay. You don’t have to go over there anytime soon, okay?” Josh comforted. He was really worried about Tyler. He’d never seen him so hurt and it hurt him just looking at him.
“I can’t anyways… They kicked me out, Josh. What am I supposed to do? I can’t go anywhere!” Tyler cried. He leaned into Josh and clung to him. Josh sat there in shock. What kind of people kick their son out for being gay? In this day in age? They seriously needed to grow up and get over themselves. He felt himself getting angry just at the thought of the dicks that hurt his baby.
“Babe, listen, you can stay here. I’m sure my mom would be more than happy and we have a spare bedroom in case you don’t want to stay in here.” Tyler sat up, looking at Josh with watery eyes.
“A-Are you sure? I don’t want to intrude, Josh… It’s a big thing.”
“I know it is but, I promise, you wouldn’t be intruding. My mom loves you… I do too…” Josh said, looking down. Tyler smiled and lifted his face, softly kissing his lips.
“I love you too, Josh… Thank you so much.” Tyler said, hugging him tightly.
“Of course.”
“Hey, guess what?” Tyler said. He was in a much better mood because of Josh. He felt so lucky to have someone so great as a boyfriend. Not even his parents could take Josh away from him.
“What?” Josh said, smiling.
“You called me babe!” Tyler exclaimed, throwing his arms around Josh’s neck and putting his legs on either side of his body. Josh quickly tucked his hands around Tyler’s back.
“Haha that’s right, Ty, because you are quite the babe.” Josh said, smiling wide. Tyler smiled back.
“I like that nickname. You may continue to use it.”
“Oh, please. I’d use it anyways.” Josh reached up and lightly kissed Tyler’s cheek. He giggled. “You feeling better?”
“Yes. You make me happy.” Tyler said. He was sitting on Josh’s lap smiling bigger than he’s ever done before and he loved the feeling. He couldn’t get enough.
“Good. You make me happy too, babe. Let’s get something to eat, okay?” Josh said, patting Tyler’s butt a little. He yelped and playfully pushed Josh.
“Okay.. We have to ask your mom about me staying though.”
“I know. Let’s just go.” He said. The two got up, hand in hand, and made their way down the stairs and into the kitchen where Joan was making some tacos.
“Oh, good, you’re just in time for dinner. I’m glad you’re feeling better, Tyler. I’m sorry about what happened.” She said, going over to Tyler and hugging him tightly. She absolutely adored Tyler.
“Thank you, Joan. I really appreciate it.” He said, hugging her back.
“Of course! Now, you boys eat. I just made tacos.” She said, grabbing a plate and a wrap and making herself one.
They were all sitting at the dining room table, eating when Josh finally spoke up.
“Mom?”
“Yeah, what’s up, Josh?”
“Do you uh, do you think it’s okay if Tyler stays here for a while?” Josh shook his leg. “Like, a long while?”
“What do you mean by that? I said he could stay whenever her wanted.” She told him. “Tyler, do you need to stay here longer?” She asked.
“I, um, yes ma’am… My parents kicked me out and they’re moving without me.” He said, quietly.
“Oh, god. I’m so sorry. Of course you can stay here! You know you’re like a son to me! Though that’d be incest and it’d be a little gross but, nonetheless, you can live here.” Joan rambled. Throughout her speaking she received a few laughs from Tyler and Josh.
“Thank you so very much!” Tyler expressed. “I can help you out with like water bills and stuff too so-“
“Oh, nonsense. Josh doesn’t pay for them so neither should you. You just be good to Josh and do well in school and we have a deal.” Joan interrupted, smiling.
“Of course, of course. I couldn’t thank you enough.” Tyler said. He was so happy now. Before he was feeling lower than dirt and now he felt on top of the world. He couldn’t give a damn about his parents.
“There is one more thing though.” Joan said. Josh sat there, holding Tyler’s hand and smiling.
“What is it?” Josh said. He, too, was elated that Tyler was happy and could stay here.
“You two,” She pointed between the both of them. “Can’t always sleep in the same bed. Yeah, I get it, teenage hormones and shit but I don’t want to hear that 24/7, okay?” Tyler and Josh both covered their faces in embarrassment.
“Oh my god, mom…” Josh muttered.
“What?! I was once a teenager as well so, just saying. Other than that though, welcome home, Tyler.” She said happily, cleaning her plate in the trash and going up stairs. “See you in the morning!”
Josh and Tyler sat there laughing at the behavior of his mom and then followed by her example, cleaning their plates and going upstairs. They were now lying together on Josh’s bed, ready to fall asleep.
“Hey, Josh?” Tyler said softly into Josh’s chest.
“Yeah, Ty.”
“I love you.” He said, hugging him tightly and falling asleep shortly afterwards. Before Josh could say back to Tyler, he heard the soft snores of his boyfriend and smiled.
“I love you too, Tyler.” Josh whispered to the boy, kissing the top of his head and going to sleep as well.

aha! This took a couple days because, FaceTime and school but it’s up and woo, drama! I should’ve put this into two chapters but I didn’t feel like it and wanted a long chapter so, here you go.
I’ve decided to have it be at least 20 or so Chapters. Stopping in the tens is too early 🙁
