“How about…Canada?” Austin asked as we were in Oliver’s office, Alex and Austin were on his computer trying to find a new city for all of us to live in. Austin was sitting in the big chair as Alex stood up beside him, and I on the other side of the desk sitting. “Canada? No, I told you guys! I’m not leaving I am staying here with Oliver and that’s final.” I said as I crossed my arms. Alex and Austin insisted that I should leave with them, but I’m not leaving Oliver even if he is here trying to find me. “Kellin, please this is the best we can do for all of us…Alan and Jack…even for the best for Oliver.” Alex said. I
sighed. I sank into my chair, I didn’t know what to do! I don’t want to put anyone into danger or have anyone of my love ones missing again. “What if I left?” I suggested.
They both looked at me. “What? Kellin no. We are not going to do that again, we are all gonna do this together.” Alex said. I got up from my chair and walked to the window looking outside.
“Kellin just think about it. If you leave alone again he will fi-”
“Find me? Yeah he will find me Austin. Like he always do! For over a year now, and now for two years! He never fails to find me! Sure I always say I’m gonna leave to Sheffield and he will never find me, but he did Austin, Austin I think he doesn’t even sleep, eat, or ever gets off his computer to find me! He always has his ways! He always do. It’s so fuckin hard cau-”
“Cause he is friends with the cops. Kellin we get it. We get it Kellin, you life is like a game of hide and seek, you hide, but he finds you cause of the cops, kells if he didn’t have the cops he wouldn’t have found you that easily.” Alex said.
For all my life knowing him he would easily find me by the cops, I didn’t even know when I was dating him that when ever I would leave somewhere he would try to find me, but he would have help by the cops. “Alex I don’t know what to do, I just wanna give up, but if I do then he wins. He wins and I’m back home, but with him and can never let me go this time, he will have me on lock down and never leave my sight. I wish I never met him.” I said as I walked back to the chair and put my elbows on the table and my face into my face, letting the tears come out.
I heard Alex sigh. He came walking to me and put his hand on my shoulder.
“Kellin we are going to help you. We will not give up until he is knocked to the ground.” He said.
“Alex is right Kellin, we are not gonna give up on you, you are our friend and family. Family is never left behind.” Austin said. I looked up and wiped my tears. I chuckled. “Thanks guys”
They both smiled and nodded. “Hey what if we change your identity?” Austin suggested.
“Austin he has already done that, it’s didn’t work. Plus Oliver already know his name.” Alex said.
“He knows my name…but not my last name.” I paused for a moment. “That’s it! Oliver knows my name, but not my last name. I can just change my last name.” I said.
“Kellin what if it doesn’t work. We changed your hair to black from blonde when you left to Sheffield.” Austin said. Then it got to me again.
“The picture he got of me and Oliver and wrote on the back it’s black and grey filter. He doesn’t know my hair color…” I said as I was getting ideas. “Maybe he knows I’m working in drop dead, and the pictures I took of the event were all black and grey filters…” Austin got up and was about to say something.
“Kellin we can change your last name still, but he can still find you…”
“No Austin he won’t. If he even try’s to find inside the shop he wouldn’t even find me cause of my hair color.”
“But your face?” Alex said. And he did have a point.
“What about this…” I said to both of them.
“I change my last name and make him think that I left town again…” I said. “Make him think that I left still even tho I’m here and will even stop going to drop dead for a few days, as long as I make up something like I’m sick and make Oliver believe me”
“I think that will work, but how will he know that you left town?” Austin asked. I was thinking for a moment then I had an idea.
“You guys are going to tell him…” I said. Austin seemed kind of concern, as Alex had a look that this plan will not work. “Ok, but what if he wants proof?” Alex said.
“Maybe we can take a picture of some ticket, and maybe going somewhere far away.” Austin said.
“Ok so the plan works like this…we take a picture of a ticket, but have my name on it. And once you guys tell him, he will most likely wanna go to drop dead and see if I’m still working there. Then if he gone I will immediately change my last name to Quinn..” I said to both of them. Alex liked the idea, but for Austin he thought about something and said it.
“Ok, but what if he goes and asks one of the employees where you are?”
Shit I really didn’t even think about that…I was trying to figure out another plan, till Alex spoke. “Leave that to me…” he said. I just nodded. We all decided to find a ticket online and since Austin is great a photo shop he will put my name on the ticket.
“So it’s decided we say you left to Canada?” Austin said. I nodded. Austin was working on the ticket and when he was done, Alex took a picture of it.
“Ok so tomorrow, you guys call him and send him that picture and maybe he will fall for
it…?” I said.
“It will work Kellin, this time for sure it will work so you can have a normal life again.” Alex said. I nodded, just hopping that it will for sure work.
“Alright, so operation goose chase will begin tomorrow,” Austin said.
Well all nodded. We talked about some other stuff until we heard the doorbell. “Who could that be?” Alex asked. I got a little worried, but got off from my chair and walked the down the stairs with Austin and Alex behind me. As I got to the door I looked through the window, and to see it was the police….
“Guys i-its he cops!” I said quietly with worry. Alex got worried, but then thought about something.
“Austin hide behind the door with Kellin, just in case anything happens to me jump out and try to attack them. Kellin if that happens, you run upstairs and try to hide. Got it.” He said as the cops knocked on the door a little harder making me flinch.
“B-but Alex!” I said. Austin nodded and grabbed me we moved aside, Alex opened the door. Alex nodded and opened the door as we were now hidden behind the door.
“Yes officer?” Alex said. I was shaking as Austin hugged me tight to calm me down.
“Is Kellin here?” They asked. Fuck I thought.
“Why do you ask?” Alex asked, as I saw him getting a knife that he had in his back pocket. I was about to say something, but Austin covered my mouth.
“We just like to talk to him.”
“About what?”
Alex gripped on his knife, knowing what was gonna happen next.
“Look it’s kinda private, and we need to inform Kellin.”
“You can tell me, and all tell him when he gets home.” Alex said as he had his knife ready.
“Oh he is not home? Well if he does please tell him we came by to inform him about Mr. Sykes.” He said that made me push away from Austin, but he tried to hold me back. But I got free and pushed Alex away.
“What about Oliver?!” I said. The police officer seemed to look confused, but he just shook his head. “Mr. Sykes sent us to get you and to give you a ride to the shop. He has some information to speak to you about.” I just nodded as Alex didn’t seem to trust this guy.
“Can we go as well?” Alex asked.
The officer didn’t seem sure, but just nodded. “Yeah, sure that fine, but we need to hurry.” The officer said. I nodded and grabbed my sweater and got into the car with Austin and Alex. The police officer drove off quickly. Alex still didn’t seem sure about this, but I on the other hand thought other wise.
We got to the shop, Alex seemed relive just as Austin did. We got out of the car. The police made me follow him away. “Austin, Alex go behind the shop” I whispered to them. They nodded and ran to the alley. I followed the officer inside the shop. The inside of the shop looked all clean, almost back to its normal self. As I was walking I noticed some of the employees were looking at me and whispered as they looked at me. I was getting kinda confused and nervous about something’s.
As I walked even more into the shop, I noticed we were walking into Olivers office. Once the officer opened the door. Hannah, Justin and Grace looked up. “Can all of you guys leave me and Kellin alone please” Oliver said. Oliver was looking at the computer and I couldn’t quiet see. Everyone nodded and got up and left. Hannah was the last one out and closed the door. I was getting confused about all of this. Like what was going on? Everyone seemed all worried and concern. But about what?
“Kellin” Oliver said my name. But I didn’t answer.
Oliver got up from his chair, and looked at me. “Take a seat in my chair, I got something to tell you…” he said as he looked a little sad. I just nodded and sat down. Oliver clicked on the computer.
That’s when I notice it was the cameras of inside the shop. That made me get all worried and making my hands shake.
“We find out the group of people who did this, but we only got one guys face in the video…” he said.
I swallowed as I saw the tapes.
“You know the-the guys name?” I asked all worried as my hands were shaking more.
“Yeah, I actually know him myself.” He said.
I got scared and closed my eyes. “Oliver I’m sorry.”
“Why should you be sorry?” He still sounding mad.
Everything was running through my mind what do I even explain to him. This is all my fault. I should have never done this.
“The guy on the tape. I know him. I even know his name…” I closed my eyes and prepared for the worst. “His name is Mike Fuentes”
