Chapter 12
Eli’s pov
I laid on my couch with kayla sitting at the end of it, and ignored the blaring tv.
It was friday night and tomorrow I had to go with my parents to some stupid wedding.
“Have you heard the rumors?” Kayla said, turning the t.v down a little.
I ignored her but I knew exactly what she meant. There were rumors going around the school that Carter was gay.
They started tuesday and haven’t stopped. Kyle and his buddies had shoved him down in the hallways everyday since and I stood by. Ignoring the situation. If I said something, people might make fun of me.
How could we be friends now?
“Do you think they’re true?” I asked after a few minutes.
“Wes told me, so yeah, they’re true.” She said. “This doesn’t mean you cant hang out with him.” She finished, with a cautious tone.
“What do you mean?” I scoffed.
“Well you guys can be friends…” She said shrugging.
“How are we supposed to be friends?” I asked, anger rising in my voice and I stood up to face her.
“Why cant you?!” She yelled back standing up.
“Because people would get the wrong idea!” I exclaimed.
“And what Idea is that?” She asked annoyed.
“That I’m gay!” I shouted.
The words left my mouth before I knew what I said.
She was silent for a while but eventually spoke up.
“Your gay. There’s nothing you can change about that, and it doesn’t mean your a horrible person. You would probably have accepted it if you stopped letting your dad and your reputation dictate your life.” Her words flowed over me like a hurricane and she walked out.
I sat alone on my couch and let myself cry. Even if it was a little gay.
Chapter 12
Carters pov
I Ate at the diner table solem and sad.
I think my parents noticed, because they kept asking if I was okay.
I told them I was fine but the truth was that I felt like shit.
Everyone found out about me being gay and they were so judge mental. Wes tried to stand up for me, but to be honest he wasn’t the most intimidating person I know.
I don’t even know how they found out but honestly I didn’t care, they were going to eventually.
Plus I shouldn’t be ashamed of who I was. Right?
And the worst part was, since the day in the cafeteria that I first heard the names Eli has been ignoring me.
I texted him one time since but he hasn’t replied and I don’t think he will.
After diner I Laid on my bed upstairs thinking about Eli.
I heard a knock on my door and my dad and mom both walked in.
“Hey sweetie… We noticed that you seem to be upset.” My mom said and I felt the bed sink as she sat down.
“We were just wondering if something was going on at school or with your friends, and if there is, you know you can talk to us.” My moms soft voice was full of concern.
“And if it’s any boy who broke your heart you can definetly tell me.” My dads protective voice made me and my mom laugh. He was always protective.
“I don’t really want to talk about it right now, maybe Tomarow.” I said smiling at them and my mom kissed my fore head and left but before my dad left he stopped by the door way.
“What’s the guy’s name?” My dad asked jokingly, he laughed I and rolled my eyes as he shut the door .
I do love my parents.
