I’m going to share you a stoty that happened to me recently.
After school sinamahan ko bestfriend ko magpacheck up dahil sa allergies nya. Tutal naman ang last class ko ay nasa isang building katabi lang ng school ko.
Ginuide nila ang bestfriend ko para masimulan na icheck up. So pumunta ako sa may mga upuan para mag hintay.
I noticed a person wearing a t-shirt.
“I’m HIV Positive, I’m not ashamed”
Marami taong nakaupo but they refused na tumabi sa kanya.
I could feel the sadness and loneliness in his eyes. So tumabi ako sa kanya.
Nagulat sya at nabigla nung umupo ako. He looked at me and smile.
“Hindi ka ba natatakot?” Tanong nya.
“Why should I?” Replied ko.
“Kasi HIV positive ako.”
“Hindi naman kasi yan bulutong na pag tumabi ka sa taong may HIV mahahawa ka na agad. Some people are maarte at kulang ang information at kaalaman sa bagay bagay (pinaparinig ko sa ibang tao na ayaw sya tabihan)”
Tumawa lang sya and we started a conversation.
Natuwa ako sa mga nakwento nya. May 2 anak sya who us living with his ex-wife sa america, and may boyfriend sya na right now ay nasa probinsya.
“So how is life living in HIV?” I asked him.
“Mahirap , at magastos. But I never looked at it as a negative part of my life. Maybe being positive can bring a positive message to other people.”
“Sabagay.”
“When the time I’ve found out I’m HIV positive is like going back in the closet. Afraid, and ashamed from you are. Then I realized why should I hide if I can be an inspiration. I could tell a memorable lesson. Instead of being depressed and down to earth by being HIV positive, I should stay positive also in life. Sakit lang ito but it doesn’t defines me as a human being. Lahat ng tao nagkakasakit. Lahat ng tao mamamatay. But if I’m going to die soon. I want to be a person that a lot of people will remember.”
Halos nung narinig ko iyon muntik na ako umiyak. But tinawag ako ng doctor to assist my bestfriend. I’ve reach to my bag and gave him my M & M’s tumayo ako but tumingin uli sa kanya.
“I’ll remember you, always.” Sabi ko at umalis para puntahan bestftiend ko.
