Another update. Writing while I’m on the bus. Hope you enjoy.
He reached the stone door that be bordered him from his father’s chambers and pulled it open. The king was sitting in his red leather chair conversing with a merchant.
“Oh I’m sorry father is this bad timing?” Jeremy asked.
“No son, not at all.” The king said as he gestured for his son to sit down.
“So what is it that you want to with us?” The king asked.
“I want to trade some wheat and barley with you.” The merchant responded.
“I’m sorry to disappoint you but we already have a surplus of wheat and barley.”
“Oh.” The merchant muttered and put his head down.
“Is there anything else you can trade?” The king asked.
“I’ll have to travel back home to see. I have been traveling for days to get here and I’ve forgotten some of things I have back at home.”
King James stood up and walked towards the merchant and laid his hand on his shoulder.
“Well travel back to your home and pick any valuable thing you have and come back here.”
“But that will take two weeks to get there and they two weeks to get back.” The merchant protested.
“So I can give you a horse.”
“Thanks you but.”
“Don’t defy me.” The king roared and the merchant shut his mouth.
King James yelled for a guard to come in and usher the merchant to the stables. As soon as the merchant and guard left out of the chamber the king sat back down in his chair.
“So what is it that you want father?” Prince Jeremy asked.
“I think to get your mind off of last night you should go out into the kingdom and do something.” The king proclaimed.
“Of what manor?”
“Any manor as long as it gets your mind off of things.”
“Okay father.” The Prince responded and jerked out of his chair.
“Also”
“Yes father”
“I need you to deliver this message to the king of the Phereous kingdom.”
King James handed his son the letter and gestured for him to leave and go on about his day.
Trust me it will get better
