This will be my last boyxboy book. I hope you like it.
Prince Jeremy walked around the room as he thought for a quick decision out of the situation at hand. Today was the day the he would enter courtship with a princess from a foreign kingdom so they could maintain peace throughout the kingdoms. He begged his parents to postpone it, but they said the other kingdoms were getting hasty. What would he do? He didn’t want to go against the traditions and destroy his relationship with his parents. Jeremy had things holding him back he couldn’t tell his parents about this. What could he do.
A knock at the door interrupted his thoughts. He turned toward the door and stared at it for a moment.
“What?” He asked.
“Umm your highness….their waiting for your arrival.”
“Ugh. Okay I’m coming.”
Damn he thought. I thought I would more time this he thought as he walk up to the big wooden door. He took a sigh of relief and opened the door. The prince entered the hall way and he could smell all the scents of food that he hadn’t smelled in a long time. It reminded him of the parties he intended in the past before he made 18.
He admired the smells for a moment and continued down the hallway and preceded to another wooden door. This was door that blocked him from his inevitable fate. He could run but that would put the kingdom in trouble. If he got caught they could hold him for ransom, or make his father give up the kingdom by making his father think they would kill him. Yeah, as if my father would do that. He thought.
Jeremy pushed on the door and peered in as it opened. Trumpets sounded as his presence was clear. He was the last one to arrive. How rude of me? He thought as he tried to keep a giggle down. He stared forward and saw his mother and father sitting on their royal thrones. Jeremy started down the red carpet which led to the three royal thrones. He stared forward trying not to make eye contact with anyone as he walked down the carpet. As he neared the end of the carpet out of the corner of his eyes he saw another prince one of no familiarity staring at him he tried not to look and keep his head straight.
The carpet ended at about five steps. Prince Jeremy walked up the steps and got down on one knee.
” Good evening father. Good evening mother.” He said keeping his head down.
His father got up and patted him on the shoulder. “Son you know you don’t have to do that.”
“Oh.” The Prince replied.
“Stand up son so I can introduce you to our guest.”
He stood and turned around toward the crowd. His father put his hand on his shoulder again.
” Hello friends, family, and foreign allies.” His father began to say.
Jeremy kept his eyes forward trying to not look into the crowd.
“I introduce to you the heir to the throne Prince Jeremy.”
Applause exploded from the crowd and the prince tried to keep his composure he smiled. He looked around the room and caught a glimpse of that unfamiliar prince again. The prince looked away trying not to acknowledge his existence.
His nudged him and broke him out his thoughts.
“Son do you want to say anything?”
“Sure. Why not?” He said as he walked forward. “Greetings everyone I hope you all enjoy this meeting of sorts.”
Everyone stared at him for a moment and he froze. He stood there for a minute stumbling over words in his head.
“I hope to meet all of the princes from every kingdom this evening.” He said knowing in the back of his mind he didn’t mean that. He wanted to find out who that unfamiliar prince was.
The crowd exploded was applause again. Then the king made a gesture to the orchestra and they begin playing. The festivities began and the prince was bombarded by princesses they all wanted to dance with him. Prince Jeremy was a very handsome guy. With his blonde hair and blue eyes he was of rare blood. Not many people in the kingdom were granted with such features.
The first princess he danced with was princess Mary Beth she was beautiful with her blood red dress on and her dark brown hair. Jeremy admired her for a minute but kept close eye out for that prince. prince Jeremy and princess Mary Beth danced for a few songs before she got tired and had to sit down.
The next princess Jeremy danced with was princess Caitlyn she had long curly hair that draped down her neck like a cascading waterfall. She was stunningly beautiful, and tall she was almost the same height as him. Her head fit right under his neck. She kept it there for a moment as they danced and twirled around the dance floor.
The song ended and princess Caitlyn sat down. Other princesses were at him like piranha in frenzy. He was not interested in them. His thoughts were on that prince he saw. He couldn’t help but think about him. Someone tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around. It was princess Aliyah. Her dress was beautiful. It was dark green with gold embroidery. She looked beautiful with her pretty brown eyes.
Princess Aliyah grabbed him by the arm and pulled him to the dance floor. They pushed through the crowd and ended up in the middle. Obviously she wanted to be the center of attention he thought.
The orchestra played a song and the pair started to dance. As they danced princess Aliyah kept pulling him closer to her body and he kept pushing her away.
” What’s wrong?” She asked.
” Stop pulling me closer you look pathetic. Can’t you tell that I don’t want you like that?”
She stared at him for a moment and looked into his eyes.
” Are you serious?”
” Yes I’m serious. Now can we continue and get this over with?”
She was speechless for moment.
” Sure” She said with aggravation in her voice.
Damn I didn’t mean to say that he thought.
The song ended and both parties retired to their seats. Prince Jeremy could feel the heat from princess Aliyah’s glare on the back of his neck. He turned around to see that she wasn’t even looking at him. What was that? He thought. The rest of the night he didn’t dance with anymore princesses. This bothered his father so he came and sat at the table.
” Son what’s wrong. ” He said with concern.
” I didn’t want to do this and you know this father.” He replied.
” I understand son but we had to do this for the kingdom. They were pressuring us to do this. ”
“So you pressured me too?”
” Yes son. ”
” Well I guess I’m not important then. I’m just a price like a deer caught by hunter. I understood the decision but I told you I’m not ready to marry.” A princess that is. He thought
His father sat speechless.
” I know I’m sorry son. ”
” Just to let you know I’m not continuing this engagement.” He said as he got up and left.
” But son.” King James said trying to regain his lost son.
