Some say the world will end in fire
Some say in ice
From what I’ve tasted of desire,
I hold with those who favour fire
But if I had to perish twice
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction, ice
Is also great
And would suffice

I made up my mind then and there, I need answers.
Considering the fact that he couldn’t see me, I mustered up all my training and used the water from the lake, and created a wall, which I used to knock him passed the tree boundary.
I made my presence known as I stalked passed the tree line.
“What the…”
“How the fuck do you know about me?” I demanded
“You are an Elemental Mage.” he breathed.
“We established that.”
“Wha… How are you here?”
“I asked you first, how do you know about me?”
He rolled his eyes, “Well your tattoos weren’t exactly well hidden, under your jacket of course.”
I shrunk back and looked down while unconsciously rubbing my arms.
“Uh, I’m sorry, dick move.” he quickly replied.
I chuckled quietly to myself and looked up to see him looking at me curiously.
“So, if you don’t mind me asking, how did you get here?” I asked him quietly.
“Oh, um, my brother was also a Mage. He was about 5 years older than me, so he got his tattoos before me. My village’s council found out, and killed him. My parents sacrificed themselves to send me down here so they would’t kill me too.”
“Oh… That sucks…” I replied awkwardly.
He laughed, “Yeah, I guess it does. So, what about you?”
“Sindred’s core is failing. My family and I were sent down here two years ago to see if we could live down here. So far it’s been going great, for everyone but me.” I added the last part quietly.
He cocked his head to the side again, “Why not for you?”
“Well, turns out that being gay down here is like being a Mage up there.”
His eyes widened, “You’re gay?”
“Yeah,” I said, then shrugged my shoulders.
That earned me a smile, one that was beautiful and lit up his whole face.
Okay, I’ve got to go.
“I’m sorry…?” I trailed off, questioning or his name.
“Kol.”
“I’m sorry Kol, but I really should be going.’
I turned to go back home, but he stopped me.
“Wait, can I at least get your name?”
“Elijah.”
I took off, unknowingly leaving behind a man that was smiling after me.
