— I already told you that it’s not your fault, Woongie, stop saying that. — The youngest shook his head, still looking at the ground, both had already been treated by the doctors, and although they had not had serious injuries, at least not fatal, yes, they had some bandages, the boy had them on his back and abdomen while Heejin in her head, it had not been a deep wound for the girl miraculously, otherwise Sooho would be crazy at that moment, both had had to stay in that place a few more hours due to her condition, but it was time to leave.

Sooho and Sieun were there too, they had both vouched for the boys and were now buying some medicines that had been prescribed for them for pain and such. — I’m sorry, Nonna, I tried to keep you out of the house, but I couldn’t, it was my fault…

The girl looked at him, thinking that maybe he had been the one who stood against the door so that she wouldn’t open it, and that made her feel her heart break. Jiwoong was a good boy. — Yah, enough. —The girl denied, looking at the boy. — It’s not your fault, stop it, everything’s fine, we’re fine, okay? Now all that’s left is to go home, pick up that mess and sleep… Ah, I’m sleepy.

— Heejin, your boyfriend didn’t let me buy a chocolate ice cream! — Sooho’s loud voice was heard when they both returned, seeing how he entered the room with a sad pout, behind him came Sieun with a bag in his hands and a carefree expression, the taller one ran to her, pointing to him was almost as if he were a child who accused someone of hitting him. — Broke up with him. Tell him “we’re done”

The girl smiled, looking at her friend before looking at Sieun. — What did he do to you?

— I told him I wanted a chocolate ice cream, but he said no, so I told him I would pay for it, and he said no, and he pulled me here… Heejin, broke up with him. — This one said, annoyed, in fact, he was, he had been wanting that ice cream all day and now he hadn’t been able to buy it for him and his “I would hit you if you didn’t obey” face.

— Hyung, I don’t think it’s good to eat chocolate at this hour, you could have a high glucose attack. — Jiwoong opined, making Sooho look at him with his mouth open, offended for having shown that he was on the side of Sieun’s decision.

Although in reality, he just wanted to take care of his elder.

— I thought you were on my side, Ji… — He blurted out with a pout, blinking as if he were going to cry.

— Come on, it’s late, you have to rest. — Sieun interrupted, approaching Heejin, taking her hand to help her get off the stretcher just as Jiwoong got off to position himself next to Sooho, who put an arm around his shoulders with a proud smile, he felt like an older brother picking up his little dongsaeng at school.

The youngest looked at the couple with some discomfort, he didn’t feel welcome in the girl’s home, not anymore. — Ah, I… I’ll look for a place where…

— Yah, don’t be stupid, come on, let’s go home Ji, we can eat some ramen when we get there, what do you think? — The girl interrupted, smiling at him, Sooho opened his mouth when he heard that, raising his jaw, he said that they would stop by to buy the ramen, and he took the younger by the shoulders with an even bigger smile, pushing him so that he could walk while he said something to him which made Jiwoong laugh a little.

Heejin smiled when she saw that, the two of them had gotten along very well in a short time, that was quite cute, she had not seen Sooho interact with more people the way he interacted with her or Jiwoong, it was a quite unique experience.

Sieun watched them leave the room, hearing the giggle of the girl next to him, before she looked at him. – What’s going on?

Seriousness seemed to fill his system, because that expression formed on his face again, but now it was more annoying, like something inside was bothering him. — You should have told me what was happening.

—Nothing was happening-

– Someone hit you, a man who has no right to even speak to you was hitting you, I don’t know the reason for that, but I think you should have told me… – He finished, nodding at his words, he had practiced that all the way, and he was grateful that he forgot nothing.

Heejin thought, yes, maybe he was right, maybe yes. She should have told him, but she didn’t want to get him into trouble, which she knew would be in since she smelled that horrible smell of alcohol when she opened the door to her house that night. — Yes, you’re right, I’m sorry, I should… I should have told you what was happening, I guess.

Sieun nodded, squeezing her hand as they both began to walk out of the place, not wanting to make her feel bad about her choice, because he really didn’t know if he would have said anything if he were in the same situation as her. —And Jiwoong… Are you going to let him stay with you?

— You saw what happened, Sieun, if I hadn’t arrived in time, his ribs would have been broken or worse… — She said, feeling a strange feeling of worry when thinking about the fate that the younger would have had because of her, because she had been the one with the idea of leaving those bags at a police station. — I don’t want to leave him lying around, Sieun, I went through that, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. — She denied, looking at him with sincere eyes, and the boy could understand her reason for her attachment to the boy.

She felt identified, the mere fact that Jiwoong did not mention her mother gave her to understand that they did not have a good relationship, his father was an abuser, with whom he did not want to return, he was a minor and had nowhere to go, she felt like what she experienced when she was a twelve-year-old girl, and although she had her father to give her financial support, she knew that Jiwoong would not have any of that, and she wanted to be that support, perhaps not financially, but physically.

She would take care of him as if he were her little brother.

Thinking that way, Sieun just nodded, and the girl could see his jaw clench as he looked straight ahead without saying a single word. —Is something wrong with that? I feel like… You don’t like Jiwoong at all.

— It’s not that, maybe at the beginning… — He said, to be honest, he had really felt it as a threat. — Because my head only jumps to conclusions… The day you didn’t wait for me at school, you were acting strange, you didn’t even wait for me to leave together and suddenly seeing you with a boy was…

—You were jealous. — The girl finished for him, and he didn’t say anything for a moment, but in the end, he nodded with a grimace, the girl smiled, understanding his serious attitude, hugging the boy’s arm, while she leaned her face in this. Like she was some kind of doggie. — Well, let me tell you that you don’t have to be jealous, Jiwoong is a cute boy, but I don’t like him, not like I like you at least, kitten, besides… he will be like my brother from now on.

—Are you going to adopt him? — The girl smiled at that, shrugging her shoulders before releasing his arm, jumping and hugging him unexpectedly, that made the boy stop, holding her waist tightly and swinging so as not to fall, while she swings her bent legs and her arms that were around his neck.

— Don’t be mad, he’ll probably spend most of his day with Sooho…

— Ah… — He leaned his head back, closing his eyes. — Now there is going to be another person interrupting us.

—Sooho did what?

— He had an argument with Bumseok, he threw him into some tables in the cafeteria. — The girl opened her mouth in surprise upon hearing that, Heejin had not gone to school that day, due to the doctor’s recommendation and Sooho’s threats, she had to rest. So that day, she and Jiwoong had stayed at home, tidying up and watching some TV, talking and getting to know each other better before they started making lunch together.

He turned out to be quite similar to her, but with touches of Sooho, he was like their little brother or something, she liked him a lot, he was good company. —Why do I always have to be absent when the most interesting things happen?

—Who is Bumseok? — Jiwoong asked with his mouth full of food, yes, just like Sooho, the boy, after he talked a little with Sieun, they both felt more confortable, although Jiwoong was still a little shy around him.

He was a little scared by the serious aura that the older one carried, but even so, he tried not to let him notice that he was afraid of him, it would be humiliating according to Sooho, because he started that way, come on, he still hadn’t forgotten how he had broken Yeongbing’s face with a history book.

It had been epic, terrifying, but epic.

— Bumseok is a boy who used to be our friend. Can you believe he stopped hanging out with us just because we stopped him from splitting a guy’s head at karaoke? — Heejin said, looking at the boy, as if she were telling gossip or something, eyes open and her full attention on every word she said, and the younger boy was clearly listening carefully, before looking at Sieun.

—He seems to be very aggressive.

— It’s not, it’s just… I think he acts like that because he’s lonely… It’s… It’s what I think.

— I think he’s an idiot. — Heejin said, shoving another bite of food into her mouth, while she looked at the table in front of her. — I understand that what that boy did to him was horrible, but… Why would you want to lower yourself to do something to him that he did to you? Yes, maybe he wants revenge or something, but… It’s not worth it to start treating the people who supported you, like they were trash or something…

Jiwoong saw the look in Sieun’s eyes, perhaps he didn’t think the same, so, clearing his throat, he sat up straighter in his seat as he tried to find the words he should say. — I think that… the actions of someone who is lonely depend a lot on the mentality of the people, I’m not saying that this is an excuse to speak badly about the people who welcomed you with their friendship, but perhaps it is an excuse to distance yourself from them. Maybe Bumseok walked away from you because he felt alone in some way, but I don’t think that has anything to do with him talking about you like you’re scum.

— Bumseok is upset. — Heejin said suddenly, she had noticed his attitude, and she could really see in his eyes that he had some kind of anger held within him, looking at Sieun, who raised his gaze from the plate when he heard her voice, the girl sighed. — Bumseok walked away from us because he felt alone, yes, but he has a lot of anger built up inside of him, anger that Sooho didn’t let him release and now he’s releasing it with him…

—That can be dangerous, don’t you think? —Jiwoong said, looking at the two elders. — Maybe now are words and gestures, but over time, that can become a tragedy…

—Moon Heejin!

—Shut your mouth, Ahn Sooho. — The girl complained with pain in her head, not wanting to open her eyes, she felt tired, the painkillers were to blame for it.

—Heejin. — Sieun’s voice was heard in her ears, which made her open her eyes, listening to the indignant gasp of her friend. She smiled at her boyfriend when he caressed her face before passing his gaze at his friend.

– What happened to you?

Heejin heard that, turning around with a confused look, seeing the boy with a support on his leg, she frowned. She had heard that he had had an accident on the motorcycle, but when she had spoken to him, he had said that he had only fallen and that he had not gone to the hospital because nothing happened to him, that thing he had on his leg wasn’t “nothing.”

Heejin looked at her friend’s eyes, which had an annoying gleam in them, but his expression was relaxed like the one he always showed when he didn’t want to get into trouble. – It’s no big deal.

—Your hospital bill doesn’t say it was anything. —The girl she said, looking with a grimace at his leg before seeing how the older looked to the left, noticing some of their classmates leaving the room, Bumseok more than anything.

— Hey. — He called him, making him stop, looking at him with a tired face, Sieun and Heejin shared a look, but didn’t say anything. — Don’t look at me, you disgust me… Get lost.

With that, the boy made Bumseok walk out of the room after he glanced at the two others with him. Heejin narrowed her eyes, looking at her friend in doubt before looking at her friend’s leg once more. — What was that? — Sieun asked, the two friends shared a look, communicating with it, the taller one answered that doubt that the girl was having, and that made her want to hit Bumseok, even more.

He had been the cause of that injured leg.

—The last time we talked about this, you said you hated taking me out on my birthday.

The girl shook her head quickly. — No, I told you that I hated that something always happened on your birthday. Do you remember the last one? You fell off that cliff at the viewpoint, I don’t even know how, the door was closed. — The girl said, Sooho smiled remembering that. A week had passed since that incident, and it was finally the boy’s birthday. They had removed the cast, although his leg was still weak, so the doctor told him that he had to be more careful.

So the boy had been taking the elevator to deliver the food at home.

When his cell phone started ringing, he just pressed the block button to divert the call before seeing the girl taking out her cell phone.

Bumseok again.

— That idiot keeps calling you, right? — Heejin nodded, hanging up before locking her cell phone, looking at her friend and putting an arm around his shoulders, being somewhat abrupt as she pulled him closer to her and caressed his hair in a messy manner.

— Don’t worry about that, better think that today is a day when you get older… Ah, my little Sooho! I remember when you had those ugly braces and squirrel cheeks.

— Yah! You wore bangs! You looked like Edna Mode. — The girl opened her mouth offended, hitting his back while he ran without much speed, walking away from her with a smile.

Being careful with his leg, it had been a while since Sooho had that accident, which they had both come to the conclusion that it hadn’t been an accident, a night of pizza, a movie, the two of them and Jiwoong, had been critical to getting to the conclusion that Bumseok was to blame for that event.

The girl confirmed it when he started calling her non-stop to meet and “talk”, not only to her, but to Sooho as well, both seemed to be his targets or something, because they were both harassed by his calls all the time. But they had both decided to ignore him, they knew that, if he was capable of cutting the brakes on Sooho’s motorcycle, he was capable of doing something else against them, so they decided to just continue their lives, like now, going to celebrate the day of the taller.

When they arrived, Sooho ran inside when he felt the smell of food emanating from it. The girl entered carefully while looking at the photos that Youngyi had uploaded to Instagram, smiling when she saw that she had had fun decorating the place. — Oh Pretty. —The girl said, looking at how the place, now live, looked very good.

Jiwoong greeted her with a smile, which she returned before the youngest ran towards Sooho, who seemed to already be eating some of the soup that both boys who were there had made for him. Heejin’s eyes met Sieun, to whom she ran with her arms open to place a kiss on his lips, which he reciprocated before hugging her. — Ah, I thought that leaving you with Youngyi here for so long would make you fall in love with her. — She blurted out in a dramatic tone while covered her face.

— Yah… — He complained about the girl’s joke, who laughed and apologized while squeezing his cheeks, leaving a kiss on one of them. She hugged him again while looking at the place, frowning when she didn’t see the aforementioned.

—Where is Youngyi?

—She went to a convenience store for some things. — he explained before hearing Sooho and Jiwoong scream in the distance.

— Nonna, Sooho hyung is eating the cake!

— Lies Heejin, he told me to try it!

Sieun heard Heejin sigh before feeling her separate from his body, watching the scene of the three friends, who were arguing over the cake on the table, which had the knife buried in the middle, as if they had tried to cut it.

The three of them really were a disaster.

Sieun was about to approach them when he watched as the trio seemed to want to put an entire pizza in the small microwave, that’s before Heejin and Sooho’s phone, which were on a table, right next to each other, lit up with a notification at the same time.

Looking at the trio, noticing how distracted they were, trying to keep the pizza from falling apart completely, he took both cell phones, opening the messages that Bumseok had sent them, frowning a little when he saw how insistent he was with the messages to Heejin.

The boy read an address before seeing Youngyi’s photo there, remembering the incident on the motorcycle, in a conversation he had had with Heejin and Jiwoong, and that according to them, everything pointed to there being something wrong with Bumseok.

Answering the message on Sooho’s cell phone, the boy deleted the conversations from both phones, turning them off before moving and leaving them in an inconspicuous place, walking towards his coat, the boy headed to the door. — Oh, where are you going? — Heejin’s voice was heard, closing his eyes for a second, he turned around already seeing his girlfriend walking towards him with a frown. — Let’s eat pizza.

— Go ahead, eat, I’ll go to the convenience store, I’ll bring some drinks.

—Wasn’t it that Youngyi had gone to the store? — Sooho’s voice, who was already choking on his food, was heard, Sieun looked at him and nodded. — Ah, well, go, bring me a Red Bull. —He asked for.

Heejin looked at her boyfriend, noticing how serious he looked. — Are you okay?

— Yes, I’m just going to buy something. Do you want something special?

— Don’t you want me to go with you? — The girl asked, he denied with a small smile, he didn’t want her to get in trouble, leaning down a little, he left a small kiss on her lips, he denied again.

—I’ll go quickly and come back, stay here, it’s possible that the two of them alone will blow up the place. — The boy said smiling at her a little, the girl nodded, not very agreeing with that plan, but she let him go, still with that feeling of worry in her head, the girl sat with the duo, eating a some pizza while they tried not to touch the fried chicken that had greeted them since they entered the room.

They had to wait for Sieun and Youngyi.
