Sooho turned off the motorcycle before taking it with him as he walked to the garage of Hyeori’s house, he had finished work earlier since Mrs. Shin was not feeling in the best condition, and although he told her that he was in charge of closing the business, she did not want to keep the younger there, knowing that he had classes the next day.

So now he was back at Hyeori’s house, she had told him to arrive after work, leaving the motorcycle near one of the Kang’s big cars, he walked towards the door of the house with his helmet on his hand, seeing the lights off, he assumed that the girl was already asleep, so, in order not to ruin her dream, he took the key which he knew was always hidden in case one day the boy needed it.

When he opened the door, the sound of barking made him stop, seeing how the two dogs ran towards him, he crouched down to receive them, however, they both passed by his side, he felt offended, but he got confused, Looking back, he saw how the dogs stood at the entrance gate, staring at the street.

Walking towards them, Sooho managed to capture a figure walking quickly down the dark street, his eyes widened when he saw Hyeori walking with some bags in her hands, however, what made his heart beat the most was the fact that he could see three more figures behind her, following her.

Already knowing the reason why the dogs had acted like this, he smiled, opening the door, letting the two animals out. They ran while barking loudly. Hyeori accelerated her pace when she saw her dogs approaching, while Sooho ran towards them also, rather, to his girlfriend.

When Jax reached one of the figures and threw them to the ground, growling at him in annoyance, Nala did the same with the other two, scaring them enough, Sooho walked towards Hyeori, who stopped when she saw him in the place, they both saw the figures on the ground, with scared faces, the couple looked at them seriously before Sooho approached them, crouching between them. —The next time I see you following my girlfriend, I’m going to let my dogs put their fangs deep in your throat, do you understand?

….

— When I got to her house there were three idiots following her. Do you think I slept peacefully knowing that they are stalking my girlfriend? Mrs. Shin scolded me twice for thinking about that. The only thing that saved me from going crazy was that Jax and Nala were with her.

Sieun looked boredly at Sooho, who was recounting what that weekend had been like for him and his girlfriend, who was not with them at the time since she had classes in a different classroom. — Jax and Nala?

— Oh, they’re our babies. — He said with a smile, seeing how Sieun opened his eyes a little more, that made the boy add quickly. —… those are two Dobermans this size, man, if those idiots had come near my girl, Jax and Nala would have had food for a whole month. — The boy laughed when he remembered how the boys who followed him almost wet themselves when they saw the two animals go out in search of him that night. — Hey, where are we going? I have to go pick Hyeo up from her class, plus I’m hungry.

— Three days have passed… Let’s pay them.

— My parents gave it to me.

— How can I believe that they gave you that amount of money, Bumseok? — Hyeori complained quietly as the group walked towards the school exit, they had decided to accompany Sooho to pick up the girl from her classroom. — Where did you get it?

— Why does that matter? We have the money. — The girl looked at him seriously, stopping once she saw that there was no one but them in the hallway. — I sold my father’s watch. He was going to give it to me anyway. — He try to explain.

— I don’t understand why we have to give money to that thug. — Sooho interrupted, putting his arm around the girl’s shoulders. — Return the money and get the watch back.

— The man said it was no use calling the police. — He explained, looking at the three of them with some desperation in his eyes.

— Bumseok, thank you. But I already told you they would take care of that for me. I already explained it to you.

— What? — The girl said, looking at her boyfriend with a confused expression, he just denied and stroked her hair.

— You still haven’t answered me where you got all that information from. Did you use Google? — Sooho responded, mumbling that last part.

— No, I… — Sieun looked at Hyeori with some nervousness, making her raise an eyebrow in doubt.

— Well… Come on then, I want to get out of this place now. — Sooho nodded and began walking with the girl, who gave Sieun a look before following the boy, who took her hand to leave the building, squinting at the sun.

— Sieun has a good plan… Let’s go eat after that, okay? — Sooho asked, feeling the pain in his stomach. — I’m starving, ah…

The group stopped at the sight of the familiar black van, Hyeori sighed, knowing they were going to have to argue again. Sooho turned the girl around, putting his arm around Bumseok’s shoulder, who was next to him. — Wait. — The boy led the others to retrace their steps while he looked over his shoulder at the van.

— Why?

—I’ll go first–

— No. — Hyeori interrupted her boyfriend, shaking her head as she hugged his waist tightly.

— Listen, if he has a book of transactions, drugs and other things that you mentioned, in that place, we have to take the police there.

— And we will call the police, there is no need for you to go with them. — Hyeori tried to explain, holding onto her boyfriend’s waist with more dedication.

—No. We have to catch them in the act. Not with those photos you have on your cell phone. — Sooho said as he touched the boys’ shoulders, feeling her girlfriend squeeze his torso. — I’ll go first and text you the address. I’ll buy us some time.

— You can’t go there alone.

— Seok is right, I’ll go with you, if he cut off your arm I can’t imagine what he’s capable of doing to you. No, forget it, I won’t go, you won’t go, we’ll stay here. — Sooho tried to get the girl to let go of his torso, without success. — No, let me go, I’ll hang myself like a koala if necessary, but you won’t go, no, Ahn Sooho.

— Can you give me a minute? Thank you. — The boy said, walking away a little with the girl almost hanging on his body. — Hyeo… Honey, Hyeo… – The girl denied without letting him finish. — I’ll be fine, okay? I’ll go there, I’ll make my usual jokes-

— That’s what I don’t want, Sooho. If I didn’t cut that idiot’s throat, he will cut yours and I don’t want that. — Hyeori looked at the boy, who caressed her face with a smile before leaving a kiss on her cheek.

— Good. — The boy said, calling Sieun and Bumseok, gesturing to the two boys before feeling his girlfriend slowly release him. — Are we going to eat seaweed soup later? — The boy smiled when the girl nodded, hugging her, he looked at Sieun, murmuring a “catch her” before separating from her. — See you later, sorry.

Hyeori looked at her boyfriend in confusion before feeling him push her a little towards Sieun, running down the hill towards the van, Hyeori tried to free herself from Sieun’s grip so she could follow him. — Let go of me, Yeon Sieun let go of me or I’m going to make Jax bite your ass.

— He’s going to be fine, Hyeori — Sieun said while continuing to hold the girl’s body, Bumseok only saw the girl, who seemed extremely worried, making him feel that way too.

— How do you know it’s going to be okay? Yes, he practices martial arts all his life, he goes to the gym on weekends, he’s smart but he doesn’t know how to shut his mouth, Sieun. — Hyeori said, resigned when she saw the boy get into the car, which drove away seconds later. — They’re gone, let me go. — Sieun thought about it, looking at her seriously. — Yeah, I swear I’m not going to run, it’s… I’ll wait for Soo’s message…

The boy slowly let go of Hyeori, watching her sigh and clench her fists. Sooho was surely going to be in trouble, but now what mattered to him was that he left the place alive and that those idiots left them alone. Sieun took the girl’s wrist to pull her so that she would begin to walk with him, she did so, reluctantly, looking seriously at the two figures who were in front of the door of the large slope.

Hyeori muttered a curse when she saw the girl, who she had thrown the penknife at, approach. — He went to the house, right?

— Yes, why was he alone? You said you’d call the police here. — Hyeori noticed how the girl looked at her before seeing Sieun’s hand, she didn’t trust the girl, the guy she lived with had taken her boyfriend. In a quick act, she took Sieun’s hand, in a protective manner more than anything, their eyes connected, and the difference could be seen shining in them.

The girl’s glowed with fear and insecurity while Hyeori’s glowed with determination and desperation… She needed to get Sooho out of that place as soon as possible.

— We will take them to the place, give me the address. — Sieun asked, letting go of Hyeori’s hand to take out his cell phone, writing down the address that the girl was giving him after reading the message that Sooho had sent him before giving a look at the girl, who was looking at a taxi in the distance.

“Don’t let Hyeori come without you or the police or I’ll make Nala eat you for dinner.”

Hyeori heard the address, it wasn’t that far from there, she could even run to that place right now and she would get there quickly.

However, apparently she wasn’t the only one worried, suddenly, Bumseok’s voice calling for a taxi was heard, Hyeori took that as her chance, running towards the taxi next to Bumseok before she was lifted by his waist. — Shit, Sieun!

The boy didn’t care, watching as Bumseok got into the taxi. — What are you doing?

— Listen, everything will be fine if we pay, I’ll give them the money. Why do we have to send Sooho there alone? You saw how they are… If it weren’t for Hyeori, one of us would have ended up hurt, more hurt than he left Sooho.

— Sieun, please listen, Sooho… He’s the only person I have, okay? I couldn’t stand it if something bad happened to him… Let me go, let me go and I’ll try to hold them until the police arrive, please… — The girl asked, already with tears in her eyes, her chest hurt and her hands began to shake, she was really scared for the boy. — Sieun… Please.

— I’m sorry, I can’t put you in danger. — The boy said, letting Bumseok go, still with the girl begging him to let her go when she saw the taxi leaving her, Sieun let go of her at that moment, earning a push from her. — Hyeori… Listen, no–

— Let’s go to the police station, it’s not far from here, but I’m not going to wait another second. — The girl said, taking Sieun’s hand, making him run with her towards the nearest station.

Hyeori looked with annoyance at the two police officers in front of them when she heard them say that they would return with an order to enter the house, sighing before letting out some curse words out of the desperation inside her. — Yes, okay, we’ll call you if we find anything, bye.

The girl said, saying goodbye as they got into their car, driving away until they left the place. Hyeori looked at the road with displeasure before seeing the door. — Stupids, and we pay their salary, ah… What a disgusting service, I’m going to get those two good-for-nothings fired. —The girl was murmuring as she observed the house, looking for an entrance to the place, walking towards a window, she stopped when she saw a wall without a fence. — Yah, Sieun, come here.

The boy looked in the same direction as Hyeori, looking back at her, opening his eyes when he saw her start to climb the wall. — Don’t look at my butt, Yeon Sieun. Come here. —She said before reaching the top of the wall and jumping to the floor of the house successfully, walking away when she heard Sieun’s footsteps.

Once they were both inside, they walked towards the door of the house, which looked quite neglected. She tried to open it, without success, the girl, seeing this, took one of the weights that were near a pair of already burned, wood, pushing the boy away. — That will make a lot of noise.

— Believe me, that’s the least important thing to me now. — The girl said she, crashing the weight against the glass, making sure that no one was inside the house, she looked for the lock on the door, removing it to open it.

Sieun stepped first, cautiously so as not to draw attention if there was someone there, seeing no one, he called the girl to come in with him, they both walked towards the living room, observing the entire place, until Hyeori’s eyes came across a blood stain on the floor, thinking the worst, she grabbed her cell phone, calling her boyfriend. — Go get the things you told the police, Sieun.

Hyeori tried again when he didn’t answer, watching Sieun enter a room, sighing in frustration when Sooho didn’t answer and the answering machine announced that the cell phone was off. — Hyeori.

The girl raised her head when she heard Sieun’s call, running towards where he was, the girl looked in the direction where his eyes were leading, swallowing dryly when she saw the safe open and completely empty.

They had found out and left.

They had left and taken Sooho with them.

Hyeori’s face wrinkled into a worried frown, clutching the phone in her hand. She ran her free hand through her hair, beginning to mutter something that Sieun couldn’t understand, but seeing how her hand, which had the cell phone, was shaking exceedingly. Approaching her, he could only think about the day she put ice on his cheek.

She had helped him without him asking, in his head, only that thought of him helping her moved, even though she had not asked him for that. Approaching her, the boy gently took her hand, stopping the shaking in it, the boy saw how Hyeori’s pretty eyes looked at him, they were starting to turn red and that made the boy swallow.

—He’ll be fine, Hyeori. — The girl smiled at him and nodded, trying to calm that little panic attack she was having.

The ones she had developed since that incident in that alley, which Sooho had saved her from. — Just… I hope he doesn’t open his mouth more than necessary.

— I don’t think you can ask him that, it’s very annoying sometimes.

— That’s my fear. — The girl was sincere, squeezing Sieun’s hand, which was giving her a little comfort at that moment.

—It’ll be fine, I don’t think Sooho is willing to leave you, not yet.
