“Now you are just a stranger with all my secrets”

The idea was tempting-honestly, too tempting.

But if someone found out it was us?
No.

Still… maybe, if we’re careful, it wouldn’t be that bad.

“Let’s ask Kajal if it’s a good idea or not,” Shreyansh said, already waving her over. She was on the other side of the lab, helping some girl with her project.

Kajal walked up, glancing between the two of us. “What happened?”

Shreyansh launched into his plan with that signature gleam in his eyes, his voice bubbling with enthusiasm.

When he finished, Kajal didn’t hesitate. “Let’s do it,” she said with a smirk and a spark of determination in her eyes.

I looked at them both and sighed.
I’m surrounded by lunatics.

(I know I’m one of them, but that’s not the point.)

“Exactly!” Shreyansh grinned, clearly thrilled by my internal struggle. He turned to Kajal and added, “Tell her she’s being a snob.”

“Fine,” I muttered. “We’ll do it.”

Kajal immediately threw an arm around my shoulder, catching me in a side hug. “Don’t worry. Even if something happens, we’re in this together.”

A warm smile tugged at my lips.
We’re definitely going to regret this.
But hey, we’ll at least have a great story to tell our kids one day.

“But where are we even going to do it?” I asked. “There are cameras everywhere on campus.”

“Let’s do it on the library roof,” Kajal suggested after a moment. “There are no cameras up there, and since the practicals are over, the library’s empty. No one’s gonna see us.”

Shreyansh smirked throwing one arm on her shoulder “I knew you were learning from me. Keep it up-one day, you might actually match my intelligence.”

I just stared at him.

That boy is the literal definition of narcissism.

Me and Kajal exchanged a glance-yep, same thought-then rolled our eyes in perfect unison.

 ̄α΄₯ ̄

Now, we’re standing outside the library.

The stairs beside the gate wall lead straight up to the roof. The hallway is quiet-most of the students have gone home after the practical.

“You’ll stand at the end of the stairs to make sure no one’s coming,” he told Kajal, then turned to me. “You have the water bottle?”

I nodded.

“And the final step?” he asked seriously.

“Run,” we said in unison.

“If someone gets caught, we don’t know each other,” he added.

“Shut up, it’s not a spy movie,” Kajal smacked him on the back of the head.

“And don’t even think about leaving us behind,” I threatened, leveling him with a glare.

“Okay, no soldiers left behind,” he said with a salute, making us laugh. “Now, let’s go.”

We were just about to step onto the stairs when Shreyansh’s shocked voice stopped us.

“Guys… there’s a little problem.” He held up the paper containing sodium.

“What now? We don’t have time for your dramatics. We need to do this before someone comes-and disappear before anyone notices we were even here,” Kajal whispered urgently.

She was right. Any minute now, Rudra might come looking for me.

Shreyansh shifted nervously. “I took the wrong chemical by mistake.” He gulped. “I put the sodium on the slab above, but I think it got mixed with the compound meant for the experiment.”

We all froze.

“We have to go back,” he said, guilt evident on his face.

Great. Why did I ever think this would go smoothly?

We hurried back to the lab, thankfully still empty.

“Let’s be quick,” I whispered.

“What are you guys doing here?” I didn’t even need to turn around to know whom that voice belong to

Rudra.

He stood at the entrance of the lab, his eyes locked on me. “I was looking for you. I thought you were waiting in the parking lot, but you weren’t there.”

“Uhm… I forgot my practical notebook here. That’s why I came to get it,” I lied quickly.

“Okay. I’m waiting for you-get it, and we’ll go home.” He gestured for me to go in.

We all moved in sync into the lab.

“Forget the plan,” Kajal whispered sharply. “How the hell are we supposed to return the sodium to the store now? If we go inside, he’ll notice something’s off.”

“But we can’t just leave it like that,” I whispered back.

We ducked behind a slab, watching Rudra through the glass pane.

“What do we do now?” Shreyansh asked.

“You always seem to know everything-you tell us,” I snapped. Every time I went along with his plans, I paid the price.

His expression turned irritated. “How would I know your husband sticks to you like Fevicol?”

My mouth opened to retort, but Kajal stepped between us. “Guys, bas karo! Fight later. First, figure out what to do.”

She was right. If Rudra found out about our not-so-genius plan, he wouldn’t care that we didn’t go through with it. He’d punish us the same.

“I have an idea,” Shreyansh said, looking at me with an expression I didn’t trust.

“No.”

“But-“

“Whatever it is you’re thinking-no.”
No way in hell i will ever agree to any of his so called plans from now on.

To my surprise, he didn’t argue. He just turned toward the chemicals on the slab.

“What are y-” My words cut off as he suddenly turned and shoved a test tube under my nose.

The pungent, unbearable stench of rotten eggs hit me like a truck.

Hydrogen sulfide.

My stomach lurched violently, and nausea hit me like a tidal wave.

I bolted for the washroom, gagging, one hand over my mouth and the other clutching my stomach.

By the time it subsided, I was leaning heavily against the cold counter.

“I’m going to fucking kill him,” I muttered. That idiot really used Hβ‚‚S to distract Rudra long enough to return the sodium.

Sure, it probably worked. But he’d pay for the stunt.

I vaguely remembered Rudra calling my name as I ran out of the lab.

When I stepped out of the bathroom, he was waiting outside, worry etched on his face. The moment he saw me, he was in front of me-one hand cupping my cheek, the other steadying me at the waist.

His thumb grazed my skin gently. “What happened? Are you okay?”

I gave a weak nod. “I’m fine. Just felt nauseous.”

“Come, let’s get you some water,” he said softly, still holding me as we moved toward his office.

When I looked back, I spotted my traitor best friends waving with stupid grins on their faces.

At least that meant the plan worked.

Rudra made me sit in his office and handed me a water bottle. “Let’s wait a few minutes before heading home,” he said gently.

But then the caring mode vanished.

“Did you eat something unhealthy from the canteen again, despite my countless warnings?” he asked, arms folded.

I was just about to answer when Shreyansh and Kajal entered the room-fake worried expressions on their faces.

“Hey! What happened? Are you okay?” Kajal asked, moving to hug me.

“Why didn’t you both go home?” I whispered suspiciously.

Instead of answering, Kajal stepped back and stared at me, eyes wide. “Are you… pregnant?”

What the hell?!

So that’s why they were here. I swear I’m going to kill them.

I glanced at Rudra-he looked like he’d just heard the world was ending.

“Shut up! It’s nothing like that,” I hissed, but of course everyone heard it.

“It was just nausea,” I added quickly.

Rudra visibly relaxed at my words.

I shot an icy glare at Kajal, but she just smirked, gave me a wave, and walked out with Shreyansh.

Who needs enemies when you’ve got friends like these?

πŸ‘„

After some time, once I was feeling better, we finally came home. Today, we were just a second away from facing Rudra’s wrath, but ironically, the last-minute mistake turned out to be our saving grace.

That doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten what my so-called friends did. I’ll let it go for now, but I’m not the kind to forgive so easily. What’s that saying again? Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Yeah… I’ll heal in hell anyway. Not like I ever thought I’d end up in heaven.

“What’s going on with you?” Rudra’s voice broke through my storm of thoughts. He was looking at me like I’d grown horns.

“Why? Nothing’s wrong with me,” I replied, forcing a smile. “Why would you even say that?”

“Because you looked like you were planning someone’s murder… and smiling creepily while doing it,” he said, getting up from the sofa. He set his laptop aside and walked over to me, pressing the back of his hand against my forehead. “No fever.”

“I told you I’m fine,” I huffed, brushing his hand away and rolling my eyes.

He sat in front of me on the bed, his warm fingers still wrapped around mine.

“Huh. Good,” he exhaled, his shoulders relaxing. “For a second today at college, you scared the hell out of me.”

“Don’t be ridiculous,” I scoffed, avoiding his gaze. “We haven’t even done anything for that to happen.”

Okay, sure, we’d grown close over the past few months-but technically, nothing had really happened.

His deep, rumbling chuckle sent shivers down my spine. There was something so damn seductive about it. That low, rich sound always made my stomach flutter-and he knew it.

He leaned closer, eyes gleaming with mischief. “Then maybe we should do something to make it real, don’t you think?” he whispered huskily.

My breath hitched.

He didn’t mean that… did he?

“W-What do you mean?” I managed to stammer, my pulse pounding in my ears. The heat radiating off his body made it hard to think, and every cell in me reacted to his closeness like I’d been set on fire.

I’m no better than an animal in heat. Honestly, it’s a miracle we’ve held out this long.

“It means,” he murmured, turning my face toward him so our lips were just a breath apart, “it’s time for a biology lesson… obviously with practicals. And if I recall correctly, you love practicals, don’t you?”

His grin was pure trouble.

A rush of pink flooded my cheeks. I looked away for a second, both embarrassed and… excited.

But that spark inside me? It wasn’t just anticipation. It was hunger.

I looked back into his eyes-those dark, intense eyes that always held love, but tonight there was something more. Desire. Passion. A fire burning just beneath the surface.

He cupped my cheek gently, his thumb grazing my lower lip, slow and deliberate. Every inch of my body was buzzing with electricity, and the warmth between my thighs grew impossible to ignore.

Rudra leaned in, lips hovering just over mine. My heartbeat was so loud, I was sure he could hear it.

He held my gaze for one last moment, then crashed his lips onto mine.

This kiss wasn’t like the others. It was raw. Consuming. Full of need. His tongue swept into my mouth, exploring, dominating. I tried to match his intensity, but he was overwhelming in the best way.

Our mouths battled, messy and desperate.

He moved to my jawline, trailing open-mouthed kisses that made my head spin. When his lips found my neck, he bit down softly-and a sound escaped me that I’d never admit to making.

My fingers tangled in his thick, dark hair as he kissed lower. My stomach somersaulted.

His hands slipped to my waist, his touch soft and reverent. Then he hooked a finger into the hem of my nightshirt and looked at me-waiting.

Silent. Patient.

As if I’d ever say no to him.

I nodded, my throat dry.

He pulled the shirt off in one swift movement, leaving me in just my bra. Suddenly, I felt exposed in a way I hadn’t anticipated. Not because I was ashamed of my body-I never really had been-but under his intense gaze, a wave of shyness crept in.

His eyes roamed over me slowly, reverently, like he was seeing a masterpiece.

I instinctively folded my arms in front of myself, trying to cover up.

His hands gently took mine, lowering them. “Don’t hide from me,” he whispered, his voice full of wonder. “You’re beautiful.”

“I want to see you, too.”

He chuckled, teasing, “So impatient.” But he didn’t hesitate-his shirt was gone in a second.

His body was a sculpted masterpiece, hard muscle and warm skin. Pure masculinity.

I couldn’t help myself-my hands reached for him. He caught my wrist and kissed it gently before leaning down and laying me back on the bed.

He hovered over me, then kissed me again, deeper this time. My arms locked around his neck as he settled between my thighs. I could feel his arousal pressed against me, and it sent a wave of need crashing through me.

I arched toward him, rubbing against the hardness, and his deep groan made my core clench.

“F-Fuck,” he hissed under his breath.

He started rolling his hips, giving me friction, but it wasn’t enough.

“Rudra…”

“Yes, baby?” he whispered, his lips brushing over my collarbone. “Tell me what you want.”

“I… I need you,” I whimpered, the ache inside me impossible to bear.

He kissed the skin just above my breast. “I know.”

His hand slipped into my shorts, fingers grazing my folds before sliding inside. I gasped.

It hurt. His fingers were thick, stretching me painfully.

“I-It hurts,” I cried, tears prickling my eyes.

“I know, sweetheart,” he murmured, kissing my forehead. His voice was laced with guilt. “But it’s necessary. If I don’t, it’ll hurt more later. I don’t ever want to hurt you.”

“I know it’s not your fault,” I whispered back, managing a shaky smile. “I trust you. I know you’d never hurt me willingly.”

He added a second finger.

“Oh my god,” I gasped, my body tensing.

This-this was pushing my limit.

“Feels worse than the actual thing,” I muttered.

He chuckled darkly, “Trust me… it’s not.”

“But if you feel like you’re not ready, we stop. Right now. We don’t have to do everything tonight.”

I looked at him-his eyes full of longing, desire, but also restraint. I knew, without a doubt, if I said the word, he’d stop.

But I didn’t want to.

“I’m ready. I’ve waited long enough… and I want it to be with you. Tonight.”

His expression softened with so much love it made my chest ache. “Then promise me you’ll tell me if it’s too much. Please.”

“I promise,” I said, brushing my fingers over his jaw. “I love you, my beautiful husband.”

He resumed his movements, and this time the discomfort dulled, replaced by a growing pressure, a tightening coil deep in my stomach.

“Rudra… I’m going to-” The words caught in my throat as I shattered around his fingers.

“Yeah, baby. Come for me,” he said, kissing me feverishly as my body trembled in his arms.
