My heart raced with the heat from his body. He placed his hands beside me on the wall caging me between the wall and himself.
Our breaths are mingling with each other due to the closeness of our bodies. If I just move a little bit i could kiss him , what the hell Isha control yourself. I mentally chided myself, but I’m unable to understand his actions, i thought he was mad at me.
“What are you doing?” My voice came out shaky betraying me causing him to smirk.
He leaned closer pressing his soft lips at the nape of my neck , and wishperd darkly,” someone wanted a kiss very badly huh “
He kept planting feather light kisses on my neck , his soft lips torturing me causing me to curl my toes and wetness pooling down there.
my last straw of sanity vanished when he bit my earlobe lightly earning a soft moan from me.
“Ahh…Rudra ”
“Yes baby” he wishperd lovingly while continuing his sweet torture, my heart was beating so fast like it would come out any moment.
“I- I thought you were mad at me ” i managed to broke out the words.
“You were ignoring me the entire day In the college, so I thought you were mad at me because I teased you in the classroom” i continued, he finally looked at me but didn’t put any distance between us.
“Why do you think so ?” He asked sincerely placing his hands on my waist and pulling me towards himself, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear affectionately.
“You just ignored my texts like it didn’t affected you one bit and after the class when I tried to talk to you, you just left from there like you haven’t even noticed me , but I know you did ” I said with little hurt in my voice.
As I finished his eyes twinkled with laughter and he just chuckled and looked at me with amused expression Like there’s is something funny in what I’m saying,” why are you looking at me like that ?”
“How can you overthink so much about such little things but when I tell you to study, you have unlimited excuses ready. Itna dimag pdai main bhi lga liya kro” he thinks this is a joke? I spent my entire day wondering if I made him angry and he’s just brushing it off by saying such little things.
” If you were not mad at me then why didn’t you come yourself to inform me that we will not come home together today? Instead you just sent a text” I said accusingly.
He took a breath,” I was just coming for you to go home together but Mr Bhati stopped me and asked me to take his lecture because he has a family emergency, so I just texted you” he explained.
“And what happened when i came to talk in the class?”
At that his expression turned into something dark, and he just looked at me for sometime, “that what to protect myself from my mischievous wife who was hell bent on making me hard infront of the whole class which obviously wouldn’t help my image as a professor so avoiding her was the only option left ” his words making my cheeks red
“who knew that behind that cute little face there’s a little devil who loves to torture her husband” he wishperd holding my chin.
“I’m dying to have my lips on yours”
And he pressed his lips with such intensity. I placed my hand in his hair instinctively and one against his chest feeling the rapid heartbeat of his which was mirroring mine.
He sucked on my lower lip before entering his tounge making me lose my footing, he immediately wrapped his arm around me holding me against him.
I tried to match his pace but I couldn’t. As gasped for breath he broke the kiss and looked at me with so much desire and passion like he couldn’t get enough of me , his gaze went towards my lips as he captured them in another kiss.
This time slowly savouring the taste of the kiss nipping my lip gently drawing a moan from me.
When we finally broke apart. He pressed his forehead against mine,”don’t tease me like that again….. please” his voice held something I couldn’t name but the plea was clear.
As we settled in bed, I was talking with kajal discussing the about the project details and where should we make it, Rudra entered the bedroom finishing the work in his office.
“I will see you tomorrow” I said and cut the call.
Well we are gonna share reels to each other until midnight that’s a different thing.
“What are you doing? planning another scheme to get suspended” he said teasingly engulfing me in a side hug.
“Haha…very funny”
“We were discussing about the project details and you would help us na ” i said looking at him hopefully with a smile, if he helps us then there’s no chance we wouldn’t win.
He chuckled,”well last i remember someone told me that I’m not to behave like a professor at home, I’m just your husband” did he really just used my own words against me.
“Fine” I huffed
“We will make it without your help” what does he thinks that we can’t even make a project without his help.
“Sure you will sweetheart” he said kissing my head.
“And what were you discussing in the canteen today? It sounds like a very important discussion, wanna tell me about it ” he casually dropped the bomb and here i thought that atleast the day ended peacefully.
“How much did you hear?” I aks meekely trying to suppress my embarassment.
“Enough to know you like big ones” and he freaking smirked.
Just let me die peacefully. If the ground opened now I will just jump into it without any second thoughts.
“It’s not wha you are thinking” I struggle trying to find the right words, even i know how wrong that conversation sounded without knowing the context.
Jab bhi kuchh achcha krne jaao , nya kaand ho jata hai, iss bar to mene kuchh Kiya bhi nhi tha fir bhi itni bejjati ho gyi sabk saamne.
“Ohh really but I think, I heard you saying that small ones are useless….so you prefer big” his tone sciencere like he’s not making me flush with embarassment.
“We were just discussing about the project tha it should be large or a small one, and shreyansh and I got into a argument because of that”
He just started laughing making me confused, ” i know that already, I heard the entire conversation but can’t say that about others who heard you debate” he said trying to control his laugh.
I narrowed my eyes placing a distance between us,” you think that was funny?”
“I was just teasing my wife, why? Only you have the right to do so ?” He said pulling me in his embrace.
I just melted in his embrace forgetting everything and hummed as he traced patterns on my back.
AUTHOR’S POV
Isha’s phone rang, the sharp sound cutting through the quiet of the room. She reached for it lazily from the bedside table, her eyes still adjusting to the screen’s brightness. Seeing Maa’s name flashing, a soft smile graced her lips as she answered.
“Hello, Maa.”
Her voice was warm, affectionate. She leaned against the headboard, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
“Yes, I’m good… I miss you.”
She exhaled, a slight longing creeping into her tone. It had been a while since she had visited home.
“I’ll come to meet you after college tomorrow.”
She stretched her legs under the blanket, shifting slightly, when her mother’s next words made her pause.
“What party?”
Her brows knitted together as she instinctively turned her gaze toward Rudra. He was lounging against the bed’s headboard, his long legs stretched out, reading something on his phone though it didn’t seem like he was reading anymore.
Her mother continued speaking, explaining something she hadn’t been aware of.
“Oh… I was sleeping when he came home, that’s why I didn’t know.I’ll meet you in two days then.”
She sighed, already feeling a little left out of whatever this was about.
“Good night, love you.”
She ended the call and placed the phone back on the bedside table before looking straight at her husband.
Rudra, still dressed in his simple white t-shirt, sleeves, met her gaze with mild curiosity.
Her voice was calm but held a hint of accusation. “When were you going to tell me about the party?”
He closed his phone placing it beside him. “I was going to tell you right after I got home, but you were asleep. Then, I talked to Maa and invited her-though Mom and Dad had already spoken to her-I just thought it would be nice to talk to her myself. And when you woke up…” He smirked slightly.
“Well, we got busy, and it slipped my mind.”
Isha’s cheeks tinged pink at his words. She quickly shook off the thought and crossed her arms.
“But I don’t have a dress for the party! And what kind of party is it?”
The mere thought of attending her first official event as Rudra’s wife made her nervous. It wouldn’t just be a casual gathering-there would be important people there. Businessmen, influential figures, people she had no experience interacting with.
Rudra noticed the slight tension in her posture and reached out, gently grasping her wrist, pulling her toward him. “Relax. You have tomorrow to buy everything you need. After college, we’ll go shopping together. Don’t stress.”
She exhaled slowly, trying to let the reassurance settle in.
“It’s just a success party for some deal, but I know Dad. He just wants to show off his daughter-in-law.” His lips twitched. “And he’s still trying to convince me to move back to the family mansion.”
Isha straightened, her eyes lighting up slightly.
“Then I need to be even more prepared. I can’t disappoint him.”
A flicker of doubt crossed her mind. What if I embarrassed myself? What if I wasn’t good enough for this world of elite businessmen and their perfectly poised wives?
Rudra chuckled, his whiskey-colored eyes holding amusement. “He already dotes on you. He keeps threatening me through texts and calls, warning me not to trouble his ‘pyaari bahu’ too much.”
Isha’s heart warmed at the thought. His father had always been kind to her, treating her like a daughter from the very beginning.
Still, curiosity sparked in her. “Are we really moving in with them?”
She had always dreamed of living in a big family, surrounded by people, laughter, and warmth. Having no siblings, it had always been just her and her mother.
Rudra shook his head lightly. “Not right now. Maybe after you finish college, if you want to. The mansion is a little far from your college-that’s why I chose to live here for now. But eventually, I’ll be joining the company, so it was always temporary.”
They spent a while discussing their future, their plans, their life ahead. The night stretched on in comforting conversation until exhaustion pulled them under the covers.
The Next Day
The day was exhausting. College had been draining for both of them, and by the time they finished, Isha was already mentally tired.
But there was still shopping to do.
They walked through the grand halls of a high-end boutique, Isha feeling slightly overwhelmed by the extravagant designs surrounding her. Rudra, on the other hand, remained relaxed, occasionally throwing in an opinion when she asked.
By the time they finally returned home, the sky had darkened, the night settling in.
Isha placed the shopping bags down and plopped onto the sofa with a relieved sigh.
“I’m so excited… now everyone will know that you’re mine,” she said playfully, watching Rudra as he carefully arranged the bags, putting everything in its proper place.
“They already know that I’m married,” he replied, amused by her excitement for the party.
She stood up to go to him, but just as she took a step, she winced and quickly sat back down.
Rudra noticed immediately, his sharp eyes locking onto her.
“What happened? Are you okay?” He was by her side in an instant.
“Uhm… I think I have a blister on my foot,” she admitted.
“Show me,” he said, reaching for her foot.
“It’s not that big. Don’t worry, it’ll heal by morning,” she reassured him.
But he didn’t listen. He lifted her foot gently, inspecting it with a deep frown before standing up and walking out of the room.
Moments later, he returned with a medicine box. Without a word, he took out an ointment, sat down, and placed her foot in his lap.
His touch was careful, almost reverent, as he applied the ointment to her skin.
Isha watched him, her heart swelling with admiration.
this man who looks so hard from outside didn’t even think twice before touching his wife’s feet in a society where people think that a women’s role as a wife is just to serve her husband even if he doesn’t respect her in any way but there’s he who have no ego, no misplaced pride -who places her comfort even before himself.
Once he finished, he stood up and bent down, effortlessly lifting her into his arms.
She gasped, instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck. “What are you doing?”
Rudra glanced down at her like the answer was obvious. “I just applied the ointment. Do you want to wipe it off by walking?”
Without waiting for her response, he carried her to the bed, laying her down gently before settling beside her.
NEXT DAY
I’m getting ready for two hours and I still can’t get my hairs done properly, why is that when we have to go somewhere only then it happens otherwise they look so nice on a random day uhh.
“Are you ready?” Rudra came beside me looking sharp and handsome as usual in his three piece suit matching his personality his dark hair styled and his colonge alone is enough to turn heads of many women.
“Yea just 5 more minutes” i said setting my hair with hair spray.
Finally everything is done as I looked at my figure, the dark red dress hugging my curves beautifully and the long length giving classy and elegant look.
“Let’s go I’m ready” i said turning around getting his attention who was looking at his phone waiting for me.
As he looked up taking me from head to toe like he couldn’t get enough of me.
“You look magical baby” he said closing the distance between us and placing a gentle kiss on my forehead making me all giddy.
Really Isha just a simple compliment from him and you are melting like ice.
I reached for him signalling him to bend him , he just furrowed his brows in confusion but complied.
I moved closer and kissed his forehead,” you are also looking very handsome”
I saw as he ears turned red. Awww is my husband really blushing just because of a forehead kiss.
I couldn’t help the grin on my face.
“Let’s go” he said clearing his throat and taking my hand.
“Will you stop it” he said without even looking at me.
“Stop what?” I asked innocently, i know he’s getting flustered but ofcourse would die before admitting that.
“You know what”
“But you aren’t even looking at me”
“Yea but I can feel you looking at me like you found something for your amusement” he grumbled making me laugh even more harder.
As we arrived at the party, the venue looked beautiful. People had just started to come in, the atmosphere buzzing with quiet chatter and laughter.
We spotted Mom and Dad engaged in conversation with someone and walked toward them.
The moment their eyes fell on us, they smiled warmly, and Dad turned to introduce me.
“Humari Bahu se miliye,” he said, his voice filled with pride as he looked at me with a proud smile.
The man in front of us extended his hand, and I shook it politely, offering a soft smile.
“Everyone in this party knows that you threw this party for your daughter-in-law,” the man remarked, making me blush slightly at the sudden attention.
His words made Mom smile as she stepped closer, standing on my other side. Her gaze held warmth and affection as she said, “The marriage was a private ceremony, so we wanted to introduce her to everyone after she settled into her college life.”
Hearing her words, the man nodded with understanding. “That makes sense. A grand introduction was necessary for the new daughter-in-law of the family.” He smiled before turning to my husband.
“You’re a lucky man.”
I glanced up at my husband, who simply smirked, his grip on my waist tightening just a little, as if silently agreeing with the statement.
A few more guests joined the conversation, each one eager to meet me. Compliments and warm wishes flowed in, making me feel both welcomed and slightly overwhelmed.
“She’s even more beautiful in person,” one of the women said, her eyes scanning me with approval.
“And intelligent too,” Mom added proudly, placing a hand on mine. “She’s balancing her studies and this new phase of life so well.”
I smiled politely, unsure of what to say, but before I could respond, my husband spoke up.
“She’s doing more than well,” he said, his deep voice laced with quiet admiration. “She’s handling everything with grace.”
His words caught me off guard, my eyes flickering to his. He wasn’t looking at me, but there was something in his tone-something protective, almost affectionate.
The conversation continued, the party growing livelier as more guests arrived. Rudra went to meet some other guests and I was just enjoying my drink – no not that drink, I have drank two times and …it didn’t go as well as I thought so now I’m just enjoying softdrinks.
“So, you are the one?”
A too-sweet, high-pitched voice reached my ears. I turned around to see a beautiful woman in a black dress that perfectly suited her tall figure. She was holding a champagne flute in her hand, her lips painted deep red.
“Sorry?” I asked, slightly confused.
“You are the one he chose to marry?” she said, gesturing toward Rudra, who was busy in a conversation. I didn’t know why, but something felt off about the way she spoke.
“Yes, he’s my husband.”
At my words, something in her expression shifted-bitter, almost resentful. But why? I didn’t even know her. We had never met before, and Rudra had never told me anything about her, so I doubted she was a family member or relative.
A friend, perhaps?
She smirked, stepping a little closer. “Do you want to know something about your husband?”
“He was going to be mine before you came and destroyed everything,” she said, her tone now dripping with hatred.
“We were going to get married, but I don’t understand why he chose you as his wife,” she continued, looking at me like my mere existence was an insult to her.
“If it had been some influential woman, or the daughter of a big businessman, I could have understood. But seriously? For you? He left me for you-what are you, a college student?” she scoffed.
Each word stung, though I didn’t want to let it show.
“He’s just teaching because he enjoys it, like a hobby. But once he gets bored of it, he will leave it. And why wouldn’t he? He has a business empire to run; he can’t waste his time on some child,” she added, her smirk deepening.
Her words made my heart ache in ways I couldn’t explain. I didn’t even know why I was still listening to her, standing there like an idiot, unable to move. It was as if my feet were glued to the ground.
In my heart, I knew whatever she was saying wasn’t true. Rudra would never think like that. But still, a small part of my mind-one I didn’t want to acknowledge-whispered, What if she’s right?
After all, she wasn’t wrong about one thing-I was just a normal college student. Nothing more. I didn’t come from a rich or influential family.
“One day, he will get bored of you, and he will realize that he needs a woman like me-someone who understands his world, his needs,” she said, her voice dripping with arrogance.
That was enough. I couldn’t take it anymore.
I took a deep breath, my voice steady and firm. “He chose me, not you. That should be enough for any sane person to move on with their life. But I think you have nothing better to do than meddle in other people’s marriages.”
Her expression faltered at my words, especially at the mention of our marriage.
“Now, excuse me. I have to meet my husband,” I said, turning away.
I walked toward the washroom, my mind still clouded with her words. I splashed cold water on my face, trying to calm myself down.
Stop it, Isha. You know Rudra would never do something like that.
Even though I had replied to her and walked away, her words still echoed in my mind.
I took a deep breath, fixed my appearance, and stepped out of the washroom. I scanned the party for Rudra, but he was nowhere to be seen. My chest tightened slightly.
I walked over to Mom. “Maa, have you seen Rudra?”
“He just went outside to the garden to take an important call,” she said.
“Okay, thank you, Maa.”
She studied my face for a moment. “Is there any problem? You can talk to me.”
I quickly forced a small smile. “No, Maa, everything is fine. I was just asking.”
She nodded, though she didn’t look fully convinced.
I turned and walked toward the garden, my heart still restless.
