Isha was wrapped in the warmth of Rudra’s embrace, his strong arms caging her against him as if he had no intention of letting her go. She sighed, knowing she had to break the moment, but a part of her didn’t want to.

“We need to go home and get ready for college,” she finally spoke, her voice soft, almost reluctant.

“Just five more minutes,” he murmured in his husky morning voice, the deep timbre sending a shiver down her spine.

A flutter of emotions rushed through her-warmth, giddiness, a pleasant ache in her heart. Butterflies danced in her stomach, but along with them came a deep sense of peace, of belonging. It was intoxicating, how effortlessly he made her feel cherished, wanted.

Her back was pressed against his bare, hard chest, his firm hand resting possessively on her stomach, keeping her close. His breath was warm against the crook of her neck, and she could feel the lazy strokes of his fingers against her skin, as if he was silently memorizing her.

The truth was, there was no other place in the world she would rather be.

She turned in his arms, making him lift his head from her neck. His whiskey-colored eyes locked onto hers, still heavy with sleep but filled with an undeniable tenderness.

She took in his face-the sculpted jawline, the lips that had kissed her breathless, and the way his gaze held so much warmth.

“What are you thinking?” he asked, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear, his touch featherlight and affectionate.

She bit her lip, a playful glint in her eyes. “If you’re insisting so much, then maybe we should just skip college today.” She batted her eyelashes, trying to convince him without making it obvious.

A chuckle rumbled through his chest. “My little troublemaker,” he said, shaking his head at her childishness.

His gaze softened again, filled with emotions she couldn’t name-love, devotion, something deeper, something raw. She felt it in the way he looked at her, in the way he held her as if she were his entire world.

He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. “I love you,” he murmured, his voice laced with love and vulnerability.

A lump formed in her throat. She knew Rudra loved her with everything he had, but hearing it this way, so unguarded, so open-it made her heart ache in the best way.

For the world, Rudra Pratap Singh was a man of control, a man who rarely let his emotions show. But with her… he was different. With her, he was an open book.

The intensity of his gaze, the way his arms tightened around her-it was overwhelming. Her cheeks flushed a deep shade of red as warmth spread through her chest. She felt shy, flustered, and completely undone by him.

Unable to hold back, she threw her arms around his neck, burying her face in his chest. His body shook with quiet laughter.

“What happened, baby?” Rudra asked, his fingers caressing her hair, his amusement evident.

She mumbled against his chest, “I love you too.”

His grip on her tightened. “And why can’t you say that while looking at me?” he teased, his voice rich with amusement.

She groaned, still hiding. “You know why.”

“I don’t. Tell me.”

“I’m feeling shy,” she admitted, her voice small, making him chuckle.

“I didn’t know you could be shy.”

She pulled back instantly, eyes narrowing. “Are you saying I’m shameless?”forgettting everything.

And here goes the shyness, she doesn’t know how to pretend, always speaking whatever is in her mind Rudra thought while pulling her close to himself with a chuckle.

His laughter deepened as he pinched her cheek affectionately. “You, my little troublemaker, are one piece”

Before she could retort, a knock at the hotel door caught their attention.

“I’ll check,” Rudra said, getting up.

He returned with a tray of breakfast and placed it on the bed. “Let’s eat first, then we’ll go home and get ready for college.”

Isha stretched lazily before getting up. She walked to the mirror, running her fingers through her hair, when something caught her attention.

Her breath hitched.

Dark marks. Love bites.

All over her neck.

Her eyes widened in horror. “Rudra!!” she screamed.

He looked at her, confused, before making his way toward her. “What happened?”

She turned, pointing at the mirror. “Look at this! How am I supposed to go to college looking like this?”

Rudra blinked at her, his expression unreadable. Then, as if on cue, a slow smirk spread across his face.

“I didn’t hear you complaining last night,” he said, voice smug.

Her face turned crimson. “Rudra, I’m serious!”

He stepped closer, tilting his head. “It’s like you marked me or something,” she scoffed, trying to suppress her blush.

“Maybe I did,” he replied unapologetically, making her eyes widen.

She opened her mouth to argue, but then he casually pointed at his own body. “Then I should also blame you for the art you created on me.”

Isha followed his gaze and gasped.

His chest and neck were covered in faint scratches and love bites. And his arms-God, even his arms weren’t spared.

“Oh, and let’s not forget the back,” he added, turning around.

Her eyes widened in disbelief. His back had tiny red scratches trailing down his skin.

“Did I do that?” she whispered, feeling a mix of shock and guilt.

He sighed dramatically. “Don’t wound me, love. I’m a very loyal husband whose wife, apparently, has claws like a cat.”

Isha turned away, utterly mortified. “You could have stopped me! Why didn’t you?”

Rudra chuckled. “Now, why would I stop my wife from showing her love for me?” He gently held her chin, making her look at him. His eyes, dark and intense, held nothing but sincerity.

“It’s her right.”

His voice was steady, filled with certainty. His thumb brushed against her jawline, and the way he looked at her-it was like she was the only thing that mattered.

Before she could say anything, he pulled her into his chest, resting his chin on her head, his arms circling her waist protectively.

“Moreover I don’t have any problem with anyone seeing the marks of how much my wife loves me” he said without any uncertainty.

“Haan, kyunki aapse kuchh bol kar koi marna nahi chahta. Unhe apni jaan pyari hai,” she muttered. “Ab chup chap mere liye concealer le lena ghar jaate time.”

Rudra laughed. “As you wish.”

As they drove home, Rudra stopped the car in front of a cosmetic store and looked at her.

She raised a brow. “What? I’m not going inside looking like a vampire drank from me. You go.”

Shaking his head with a chuckle, he stepped out.

A few minutes later, he returned and handed her a bag.

Isha peeked inside and gasped. “Rudra?” She looked at him, scandalized.

“What?” he asked, glancing at her while driving.

She pulled out the contents. “What is this?”

“What you asked for-concealer?” he said, unsure.

“Yeah, but not freaking five !” she exclaimed. “Do you think girls use concealer as body lotion?”

He gave her a knowing look. “I know what they’re for.” His eyes remained on the road. “And you’re going to need them in the future.”

Isha stared at him, dumbfounded.

Before she could argue, he casually added, “Anyway, they won’t even last a month at this rate.”

Her jaw dropped. She turned to glare at him. “What do you mean by that?”

But then she saw the smirk on his lips, the glint in his eyes.

Realization dawned.

“You’re impossible,” she scoffed, looking away, hiding her smile.

“But you still love me.”

She tried to act annoyed, but as she glanced at him, her expression softened.

She did. She really, really did.

ISHA POV

As we reached home, we didn’t waste any time and After getting ready, we finally reached college.

Now, sitting in class beside Kajal, I could feel her gaze burning into me.

“Tell me everything,” she said excitedly, leaning in as if I had just returned from a secret mission.

I tried to play it cool. “What’s there to tell?” I shrugged, acting as if last night hadn’t been like a fever dream . But who am I kidding? At the end of the day, she will squeeze out every single detail.

“Girl, you went on a Valentine’s date, and that too with Rudra Sir! Tell me how was it?” she nudged me playfully. “Oh, and the way he stood up for you yesterday-God! That alone was enough to burn some people alive.” She fanned herself dramatically.

I chuckled at her antics. “It was a surprise dinner… it was nice.”

Kajal narrowed her eyes at me. “Oh, yeah? And this excessive concealer-what’s that for? Do you think I don’t notice?”

I instinctively touched my neck, suddenly feeling self-conscious.

“Now, spill. How far did things go? Should I prepare myself for a gift on children’s day ” she smirked, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.

I gasped, eyes widening. “Have you lost your mind? Nothing like that happened! We just… kissed.” Yea we did a little more than kiss but in no way I’m going to tell her all that.

Just the memory of it sent a rush of warmth through me. Butterflies erupted in my stomach, and I bit my lip, trying to suppress the giddy smile forming on my lips.

Kajal, of course, wasn’t going to let it go that easily. “Oh, yeah? Just kissed? Because from what I can see, it looks like you two were devouring each other.” She smirked, eyeing me knowingly.

Before I could retort, a familiar voice interrupted us.

“What’s going on, girls?”

Shreyansh appeared beside Kajal, his expression smug as he crossed his arms. “Judging by your sad faces, I’m guessing you didn’t get a date for Valentine’s?”

I rolled my eyes. Here we go.

His eyes flickered toward me with fake sympathy. “I mean, I know you have a husband, but if you were expecting a grand romantic surprise from Rudra Sir… my condolences are with you.”

I glared at him. “You could have always asked me, you know,” he continued, adjusting his shirt collar dramatically. “I am the most eligible bachelor around, but for the sake of our friendship, I would have made the sacrifice and said yes.”

“Speak for yourself, loser,” I scoffed. “We did have dates, unlike you, who probably spent the entire day sleeping.”

Kajal jumped in, smirking. “And even if we didn’t have a date-which we did-we would never lower our standards to that level.”

Shreyansh feigned an offended gasp. “Huh, like I would ever be interested in you.” He scoffed, then leaned back smugly. “I was just being generous as a friend.”

Then, he turned to Kajal, a teasing glint in his eyes. “And aren’t you talking a little too much for someone who keeps getting rejected by the same person over and over again?”

The playful energy shifted in an instant. Kajal’s face fell, just for a fraction of a second, before she quickly masked it with her usual carefree smirk. Most people saw her as this bold, outspoken girl who didn’t care about anything. But I knew better.

Sometimes, the heart doesn’t listen to logic.

“Shut up, you idiot,” I smacked his arm, making him wince. “You never know when to keep your mouth shut.”

“But she started it first,” he whined, rubbing his arm. Drama queen.

I looked at Kajal, silently asking if she was okay. She just shook her head, brushing it off.

Before the conversation could continue, a firm voice interrupted us.

“All students, open your books.”

We all turned toward the front of the classroom. Adi Sir stood there, looking sharp in his crisp white shirt and formal pants. His presence alone demanded attention.

For a brief moment, I saw his gaze flicker toward Kajal before he quickly composed himself and started teaching.

I glanced at Kajal again, but she was staring at her book, pretending to be focused.

And just like that, class began.

After what felt like an eternity of classes, the moment I had secretly been waiting for finally arrived. Rudra walked into the classroom, looking as handsome as ever in a black shirt with the sleeves rolled up, his usual confident stride making it impossible for anyone to ignore him.

As he took his place at the front of the class, his gaze instinctively found mine-like he didn’t even need to look around, as if he could just feel my presence.

A shy smile crept onto my lips, and for a brief moment, I saw his expression soften-just enough to reassure me that he noticed.

And then, just like that, he slipped back into his usual demeanor. His tone was serious, his posture straight, his presence commanding as he began teaching.

It was almost too easy to forget the way he was with others when we were alone. With me, he was different-softer, more intense, and utterly mine.

“Haan behen, tera hi pati hai, par yeh class mein taadna band kar. Ghar jaake aaraam se dekh lena,” Kajal muttered under her breath, breaking me out of my trance.

“Vaise bhi, chahe jitna bhi pyaar ho, tujhe koi extra marks toh nahi milne waale. Abhi bhi time hai, padh le.”

I rolled my eyes at her but couldn’t stop the small chuckle escaping my lips. She wasn’t exactly wrong. No matter how much Rudra loved me, he was always professional when it came to his work.

Still… it didn’t stop my heart from racing every time he looked at me.
