Y/n POV
It’s been almost a year since we started staying at the Zoldyck manor. Illumi hadn’t tried anything drastic with D/n and I was able to leave them alone when I went on a few jobs.
I had just gotten back from one of said jobs.
“Welcome back Master Y/n,” Canary greets as I step through the gates. “Master Illumi and D/n are out shopping right now.”
“Thanks for telling me.”
Shopping? I wonder what they bought…
I didn’t think much of it and headed into the main building. I went up to the room to change into more comfortable clothes before coming back downstairs to see what was in the massive kitchen. After getting what I wanted from the pantry, I heard the front doors open. I turned the corner to see D/n on Illumi’s back as he carried various bags.
“Hey, what’d you guys get?”
D/n climbed down from her father’s back and dug into one of the bags before running to me. She had a box and opened it to reveal a pair of shoes.
“Mommy look, aren’t they pretty!”
They were a pair of purple high tops with accented green.
“Wow those are nice sweetie,” I smiled.
“That’s not even the best part, look!” She rushed to put them on then stomped her foot. “They light up!”
I giggled at her childish excitement, finding it adorable.
“Meow.”
My ears perked up at the sound. It sounded like it was coming from Illumi’s direction.
“What was that?”
“Umm it was me! I’ve been practicing cat impressions, MEOW!” D/n says, seemingly in a panic.
“Meow.”
Ok that’s definitely not D/n.
I walked towards Illumi who was holding one particular bag behind his back as D/n was in a nervous sweat.
“Show me the bag.”
Illumi presented the bag to me, though he was gripping the top shut.
“Open it…”
He then tried pulling the bag back behind his back before I snatched it from him and opened it. Inside was a pure white Turkish Angora cat with piercing blue eyes.
“AWWW HOW ADORABLE!” I scooped the cat up and cuddled it to my chest. “Where’d you find this cutie?”
“So you’re not mad?” D/n asked.
“Of course I’m not mad!”
I giggled while swaying back and forth with the creature as the two explained how they found it.
{mini flashback}
Illumi POV
D/n and I were walking back to the car after spending most of the day at the outlets. The girl heard faint meowing and turned her gaze over to a box between 2 buildings. She ran to it before kneeling down and lifting up a white cat.
“UWAAHH I’VE ALWAYS WANTED A CAT, DADDY CAN WE KEEP IT?”
“You’ve never had a pet before?”
She shook her head. “Mommy was busy with 3 jobs then, she said there was no time for pets.”
Hm. It kinda looks like Kil.
“Alright, lets keep it.”
“YAY!”
“And let’s name it Kiru.”

Y/n POV
“You decided to name it after your brother?” I sweat dropped. The bug eyed man nodded vigorously at me.
“You like him right? We can keep him right!?” D/n asked, doe eyes looking up at me.
“Yes, of course!”
