“I think all of you know why we’re here today.” Hu Tao closed her eyes as with a dramatic slurp of her mcflurry. 205 homeroom was gathered up in the nearby McDonald’s as asked nicely (threatened to be her business’s next client) by the brunette. Kaveh was constantly looking around from side to side for any mysterious appearances of a certain blue haired teacher, still traumatized from the incident regarding to him before. He ended up standing guard near the entrance of the place.
Yanfei nodded as she airdropped a powerpoint of 68 slides to majority, not commenting about how the presentation was half filled with red zigzag lines under the words due to Hu Tao’s rushed typing. Itto flexed his very old looking android phone. “A galaxy alpha” as he proclaimed, likely only bought because of the name alpha. Shinobu bonked his head and dragged him back to his seat. The brunette placed her drink down with a small slam and stared at everyone with a determined gaze. “We need a plan to get ms. L/n out of the rock she’s under and throw a life rack to mr. Raiden drowning in denial. Have you seen the way he looks at her??” She huffed out.
Xiao leaned on his arm as he looked around almost boredly. His guardian, Zhongli had insisted on coming along when he heard that the meet up was regarding a certain teacher. The ravenette didn’t even know the two professors were acquainted in the first place, but didn’t question much. “Just let them figure it out, this isn’t any of our business..” Xiao muttered. Childe groaned and threw the receipt of the orders he was half forced to pay for into the trash nearby.
“Personally, I don’t like the thought of intruding on their life either. But I’ve seen thousands of episodes of romance dramas and shows to try and understand what’s going on. If we leave them be, none of the two will make a single move!” He pointed out, and everyone murmured in agreement. No one questioned how the ginger had practically researched on the frustrating case. “My point right there!! The worst part is that they both seem interested in each other.” Hu Tao agreed.
Nilou sweatdropped and drank away at her apple juice. “Maybe we should just tell ms. L/n? I think she would appreciate a direct confrontation rather than hints. I don’t think she would reject mr. Raiden either.” The redhead tilted her head. She herself was pretty dense with inside jokes and such, so she was empathetic towards the teacher. Shinobu shook her head firmly. “…I think we all know what mr. Raiden will do to us if that ever happened.”
On cue, everyone looked towards Kaveh who was constantly looking at his phone and back to the glass doors. Poor guy. Nobody knew what even happened to him after he was dragged away by the calculus teacher two days prior.
Just as Itto was about to give a suggestion, Shinobu immediately placed a finger on his lips. He pouted and stared back at his phone. “This is going to be a stick in the ass. Not too subtle that ms. L/n is going to somehow make a conclusion of friend zoning him even further, but not too bland that mr. Raiden will burn down the school with us locked in.” Hu Tao twirled one of her pigtails in frustration. “Anyone got any ideas?? Even if it’s stupid, bring it to the table. Anything is better than nothing.”
All sixteen students and one professor who had nothing to do with this fell silent with the only noise being the occasional cars driving past by outside or the workers sweeping around. Only around half or a little more was able to participate today.
Zhongli was amused by the situation. Watching Y/n’s class bat their foreheads together to squeeze out ideas and acting as wingmen made him feel proud in some way. How he never noticed Xiao’s homeroom teacher’s familiar last name- he didn’t know. His eyesight was to blame nowadays… Suddenly, an idea popped into his mind.
“What if we like you know, just tell mr. Raiden to just confess his ass off already??” Childe ruffled his hair.
Xiao huffed. “We can do that, but make sure to sign up for one of Hu Tao’s coffins before.”
“I would encourage business promotion but now isn’t the time. I will dig a grave and start carving my headstone if I see those two awkwardly standing around one more time.”
“Oh, I saw in a webtoon last night where the two love interest get locked in a room and they kiss!”
“Barbara, I’m sorry to break it but that only exists in webtoons and kdramas.” Yanfei sighed.
“Should we set them up???”
“That’s exactly the fucking reason we’re here you sherlock.”
“Either way, mr. Raiden will find a way to avoid all of them.”
Like that, the most basics of all basic ideas began to pour out for the next thirty minutes or so. Hu Tao scolded them all and complained that hundreds of juicier ones would’ve came out if a certain wattpad addicted four-eyes was present. Zhongli coughed lightly and looked up as Xiao raised a brow at his guardian. He wanted to let the kids figure this out, but he too was getting somewhat frustrated by the duo’s relationship. He definately wanted to see this Scaramouche in flesh, but for now..
“I have may have an idea.”

“What… Is this?”
Cyno raised a brow as he stared at the piece of paper with cartoon people with familiar hair colours and arrows pointing at two of them. Dark blue and h/c. Hearts were scribbled on practically every blank part of the page as the teacher’s maroon eyes awkwardly bored into it. Beidou shrugged as she leaned on the desk and unwrapped a piece of chocolate. “Apparently, the kids are playing wingmen to get L/n and that 206 demon together. It’s actually pretty cute.” She said while throwing the wrapper into the trash nearby.
The white haired male read over the messily written paper once more. “Operation; Dry up the nile..? What does nile have to do with getting two people together?” Beidou shook her head with an amused grin. “Kiddos nowadays use the nile as term for denial. They sound similar.” She simply said with another shrug.
Cyno was silent for a moment, before placing the page down. “That reminds me. When ocean broke up with pond, do you know the reason they did so?” The brunette raised an eyebrow and laughed softly. “I dunno. Because pond’s hole was too tiny?” Cyno didn’t catch onto the slightly dirty comment and shook his head.
“It was because pond was too shallow. Get it? Because ponds are shallower than oceans, and shallow in a relationship depicts that one doesn’t put much effort into it.” As soon as he finished his sentence, he covered the lower half of his face and looked down as he began to chuckle at his own joke. The PE teacher laughed loudly along with him. “Pff… That’s a good one, Mahamatra.” As Cyno finally got his composure back, he gestured towards the paper once more.
“So.. Do you know my part in this elaborate plan?” Beidou smirked at Cyno’s question. “I remember ‘Tao explaining me your role is to get Raiden jealous of the you. You know, act nice with her, take her out for lunch, indirectly flirt around in front of him and so on.” He nodded at the explanation, although thinking it may be a little awkward due to their sibling-like relationship.
But to be honest, all the teachers who knew ms. L/n was on the verge of exploding due to her density towards the situation.
“Alright. But get my funeral planned before we begin, I’m not sure how long I’ll last through the plan if Raiden is involved..”
“I’ll get one of Hu Tao buy one get one free coffin deal things for you.”
“Well… I’m just dying to finally see those two together after all these months.”
“….No wonder you don’t have a girlfriend or a boyfriend yet.”
“Hey, you liked the one before-“

Fischl’s eyes sparkled as she listened on the plan made by her homeroom class. She couldn’t attend the McDonald’s meeting, and Yanfei was currently catching her up on the situation. “How intriguing indeed. An intricate masterplan weaved in order to connect two hearts that yearn for one another. Very well, I would be most glad to play a part in this.” She declared with a dramatic flip of hair. Yanfei sweatdropped but decided to not say anything about the girl’s behavior. The two had not talked much but luckily, Yanfei didn’t have much problem understanding her.
“Great! You meet up with ms. L/n and mr. Oz every Wednesday after school, right?” The pink haired girl looked up from her clipboard. Fischl nodded in confirmation. “That would be correct. The three of us engage in a conversation of utmost importance about the land of Immernachreich.” She pondered for a moment. “And we do occasionally speak about the matter of my settlement in this mortal realm.” If they make sure Oz caught onto the plan, that would be an excellent time for Fischl to pull out information on ms. L/n’s true feelings regarding the next door teacher.
“Fischl, I have a very important job for you.” Yanfei began with a semi serious expression. As childish as this situation was, she was tired of seeing her favorite teacher so down and seeing her friends in the other class die under the fury of mr. Raiden. “During your sessions with ms. L/n, I need you to discreetly talk to her and get her to tell you what she actually thinks of mr. Raiden, and if she ever gets suspicious of the operation. Can you do that?”
The blonde nodded almost too enthusiastically. This was just like one of those undercover missions in her favorite shows! Sneaking around and acting normal under the gaze of people, and quietly sneaking out information she needed before disappearing like a wisp of wind. “Of course! Cough I mean, I shall comply to this plans to the best of my abilities. Thou can expect none under absolute perfection from the prinzessin herself.” Fischl promised while placing a hand on her chest with pride. Yanfei nodded and wrote a few sentences down on her paper. The blonde suddenly became curious of all the other people who were involved in this.
“Counsel Yanfei, I do have a query I desire for thee to answer.”
“Hm? Ask away.” The girl tilted her head. Fischl placed her hand down on the desk and cleared her throat. “Around how many other individuals are involved in this scheme?” Yanfei thought for a few seconds before she made eye contact back with the blonde.
“I think almost the entire school..? All the departments, their teachers, principals, and students that’s involved in mr. Raiden’s or ms. L/n’s classes.”
“…!”

As the last period was beginning to end, Y/n began to notice slight changes in the students’ behavior. Especially her main homeroom. Most of them mysteriously stopped asking about mr. Raiden since the beginning of the day. Not like she was complaining, but she found it somewhat puzzling. She knew that these kids were more interested in her life than their failing finals preparation in chemistry.
The h/c haired teacher yawned in her desk while writing a report to the district. It was now mid-late January, almost February. Local stores and markets began to stock pink and red heart themed things every corner of the space, and the piercing smell of cheap chocolate and cinnamon would soon fill the air. She mentally sighed at the thought of it.
Her mother was released last week.
The email that was sent from the ward nearly made her choke on the toothbrush she was holding onto when she first read it. They assured that woman didn’t know anything about her current life including her location or jobs, but it still made the teacher paranoid for her surroundings.
Meanwhile, Scaramouche was wondering for his roommate’s sudden change in behavior. She checked if the doors were locked every ten minutes or so, asked him to keep the curtains closed, and often paced around the kitchen while chewing on the flesh between her index and thumb. He would be lying to say he wasn’t the least bit concerned, yet couldn’t bring himself to ask. But her answer was already expected from him.
Plus, he ignored her for a while now. What would she think if he one day, out of the blue, suddenly asked if she was alright.
At work, she managed to keep her demeanor as usual. Bubbly and carefree, succeeding in keeping up the normal ms. L/n. He couldn’t decide on what annoyed him more. The fact she wouldn’t show or say anything, or how no one noticed her behavior other than him. Actually… It was neither. Perhaps it was the fact he knew of her state, and yet was still too proud to go up and ask her regards.
“Um.. Mr. Raiden?” One of his students squeaked out while raising her hand up. It was Sucrose, the one who cried a while ago. Well, many people cried a while ago in his class, and not just a while ago. “There’s a question none of us can find an explanation anywhere in the textbook.. Could you explain to us?” She carefully asked. Her classmate decided to spin a wheel with everyone’s names on it online to choose who was going to ask, and she somehow got chosen. Scaramouche simply stared at her with his body still turned to the computer, yet to the poor girl, it felt like he was gazing at her as if she murdered his entire family line.
After what felt like an eternity of holding breaths to the whole class, the teacher sighed. “Hundreds and thousands of math websites and apps nowadays. I wonder what happened to those great things.” He turned his face back to his device. “But I’m sure all of those sites mysteriously shut down and none of your apps would work, or something if you guys decided to spin a wheel to ask me, right?” Scaramouche snapped his gaze to a male student who flinched in the back. “Ajax. Bring your phone to my desk.”
The ginger sulked as he did as ordered, placing his device on the wooden desk before returning to his seat. Sucrose gulped as she looked through the exercise page for the hundredth time. Mr. Raiden was already known for his snappy nature before, but nowadays, he just seemed to be in a bad mood in general. It wasn’t that he got random students in trouble for unfair reasons, but just… He was now just the plain, naked definition of grumpy.
The majority of his classes noticed his change and immediately turned their questions to the next door teacher instead.
The bell rung after thirty more painful minutes.
Operation dry up the nile, officially started.
